Tremendous dinner with a business meeting involved. This restaurant always hits the mark with tremendous service, phenomenal stakes, great sides, and an atmosphere where we can still have a conversation. Great evening as always, and I will return.
Excellent food and service. The French onion soup was about the best I've ever had! Pricey but very much worth it for any special occasion.
Absolutely delicious dinner, but be advised, the portions are very generous! We had the double wedge salad with blue cheese and a Caesar salad to start. For entrees, we had the Maker's Mark Medallions (delicious!) and the Duck, with Garlic Buttered Broccoli and Au Gratin Potatoes on the side. The salads and sides could easily feed three to four people. Food is of the highest quality, the restaurant environment is upscale and lovely, and our waiter Curt was charming and delivered excellent service! Recommended for an excellent evening of fine dining.
Nice place to go for a quiet dinner was celebrating my birthday and enjoyed every minute the service were excellent
Wonderful Anniversary dinner! Service was prompt and attentive, and both managers stopped by to check in on us. Filet and lobster tail were exactly what you would expect for one of the top restaurants in Memphis. Loved the spinach casserole and garlic and leek mashed potatoes. Always a special time at Folks Folly.
The inside of the restaurant looks very nice. Our service was absolutely amazing, and the food was fantastic. The atmosphere felt very good and the restaurant wasn't too loud, which I really like. I would definitely recommend going here for any special and important events.
Our server and busser were fantastic! The food was delicious, and the courses were perfectly spaced out. We don't get to go out often due to our child's sports schedule, so when we do, it's truly appreciated to enjoy a restaurant that still delivers excellent service.

Never got lemon for my water like I asked. Grilled Lobster was a little chewy ,it probably should have been steamed. Grilled asparagus with lemon was mediocre , the filet mignon was ok nothing special.
HOWEVER, the sweet mashed potatoes were delicious, and the Folly tide bits were superb

Watery cocktails and salty steaks. The artichoke and tomato appetizer was actually asparagus with an artichoke and tomato sauce. My 6 year old gives the cheesecake, the chicken tenders, and the ketchup five stars. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

My wife and I were moving from Denver back to NC this past spring, and we decided to stop through Memphis for a night. We wanted to make a thing of it, so we decided to try out Folk's Folly. The weather was bad, some roads were closed, and the driving was rough. I kid you not, I pulled our Penske truck into the parking lot minutes before the restaurant was set to close. The sous chef, Theo Jones, saw us in the parking lot, and on hearing our story, he exclaimed "I need to feed you, it's my job to feed you!" He conducted us directly to the hostess and we put in the final order of the night.
I believe Theo tried out some new dishes on us, as I don't see the Cajun gulf shrimp we were served anywhere on the menu, but I can attest to their perfect flavor and incredible plumpness. It is easy to overcook shrimp, but these were put on the plate hot and perfectly pink. I cannot recall what my wife had, but my potatoes au gratin had a golden ratio of butter to cheese.
The ribeye gets a paragraph of its own. I typically cook my own steak at home and spare restaurants my high expectations. That night, Theo had gained my trust, so I gave it a shot. Simply put, this ribeye, cooked in butter, sizzling on the plate, was the best steak I can remember eating, ever. They nailed it rare, just like I requested, and served up a steak so marbled you'd think Michelangelo chiseled it from inspiration!
The drinks were great also! The late diners at the nearby tables were in great spirits, and the low lighting lent every stolen glance and stray comment a conspiratorial air. We eventually ambled out and lodged over by the Mississippi that night. Next time I go through Memphis, this restaurant will be my first stop.

I am here for my birthday 10/16/24. Folks Folly has been on my to go list and I am not disappointed. Starting with the She Cran soup, wedge salad and French toast to the Lamb Chops and ending with the complimentary birthday cupcake all was great! My birthday dinner was beyond pleasurable. I will most definitely be returning. The atmosphere is comfortable, cozy with the perfect touch of excellence. This is my number two top favorite restaurants. Cliff, or waiter was courteous, attentive and took great care of us. Jose was the same.

Overall a little outdated, but it’s an older restaurant. Service was more than I ever expected. David, bartender, and Keegan, manager, were wonderful. Food was again, a little outdated, but still great. Piano player was so awesome to sit and sip to.

Our waitress was very nice and very attendant. The atmosphere was very nice. I ordered lamb chops and jalapeño mac & cheese. The lamb chops was a little over cooked. My drink was named Killer and it was very good.
Parking: Valet took my keys and parked my car. After dinner gave the valet attendant my ticket and my car was brought to me. Gave the attendant a tip and left. No problem and very convenient.
