Had the 3 piece dark meat fried chicken, with beans and slaw. Staff were super kind and friendly, food was quick to the table, chefs did great work, my glass was always full, and the whole experience was lovely. Thank you!

I had the opportunity to try the chicken place while in memphis on vacation. The batter on the chicken was weird and it did not have any flavor just spice. The bake bean tast like it was straight out of a can. I will not return or seek this chicken place again.

Hey, hey , tellllll you about my experience at THIS LOCATION!!!!!!!!! First, let's talk about yhe atmosphere, upon first walking in, it gives a very much homey feel! Secondly, being greeted by the most pleasant young server (Cameron), this young guy was in point, never needing or wanting anything because he was so attentive to his tables. And lastly the food was GREAT! Hats off to the cooks. The food was fresh and good!

We've been to several other locations and services, and wait time and atmosphere were definitely horrible. But this location has restored my faith in the Gus's name.

I will definitely be coming here again!

Was traveling through Memphis for work and was recommended to this place. This chicken is amazing! It comes out hot, fresh, juicy, and flavorful. I like the hint of spice in the batter. If you're in Memphis and looking for some quality fried chicken that tastes like grandma's. We'll this the place to go.

I hate to have to write this review because Gus’ chicken has always been my favorite place to go to when I want some good, fried chicken! I patronize all locations in Memphis and never really had an issue…but my most recent experience was a 0/10, trash customer service! I recently just started working right up the street from this location and was excited about going for lunch only for them to mess up my order, which was not the real issue for me because I understand that mistakes do happen. However, I called them after making it back to work and seeing that my order was incorrect (missing a piece of chicken) and they told me that I could come back to get a piece of chicken. I began to explain to them that I was on my lunch break and did not have time. I called weeks later because I was planning to go back for lunch and was told that they did not see my name on the list so I asked for a manager to call me back. The lady was very rude and told me that she can’t make the manager do anything and that she was not available at that moment. Minutes later the store manager called me back and before I could even explain to her my experience she kept cutting me off, was very rude and nasty and basically called to argue with me instead of trying to listen to my issue and see if we could resolve the issue at hand. She never let me get a word out when I tried to explain to her that the young lady I originally spoke with was rude. She began to say, “Oh no she was not rude because I was standing right here listening to the conversation!”. All I wanted was my order replaced, I’ve spend thousands with this restaurant and have receipts to prove it and I’ve been a customer since the grand opening years ago! They clearly rather argue with their long time customers over a piece of chicken instead of replacing it which wouldn’t cost them anything to do so! After our conversation she told me that she was not going to replace it at all and she hung up. The worse customer service ever! From now on I go to Forest Hill Irene location and Germantown where they are much more professional.
