Hattie's Tamale and mobile TAMALE SHACKS

I love Memphis tamales and have eaten them from the Tamale Man before he passed and Pop’s for decades and never had a bad batch. I was curious about Hattie B’s as the trailer location on Lamar Ave was convenient as I can now only get tamales when I’m in town. I had also heard Hattie B’s was as good as the two I mentioned. Sadly, the previous reviewer was absolutely correct, these tamales taste nothing like the famous Memphis tamales I have eaten in the past. They had no cornmeal, the “filling” tasted like a box of salt spilled in the batch and the amount of grease was shocking. Hattie B’s has recently launched an online store and I had planned to order and have them shipped, but I’m glad I was able to try them first before ordering online and being disappointed when they arrived. Truly insulting to the Memphis tamale legacy.

I went to the truck on Lamar Ave. I'm from Texas but originally from Memphis, Tennessee. We were bought up on these.( 1958 and 1962 babies). I have tried calling to explain my problems privately. The phone goes to recording. SMH
The tamales ( 15 @ $2.00 per) had no cornmeal and the inside looks like something you do afterwards.
This is not the normal! Please go back to the regular way!!

They weren't too good today. The meal was stuck to the paper. Each 1 and I bought 8... Such a disappointment.

Picked up some Hattie's tamales a few day ago. They use to be pretty good, but lately I've had to trash them. Where is the masa (the outer covering)? There should be a balance.
