If I could give zero stars, I would. I first ate here in April 2025, and got the blackened chicken Caesar salad it was perfect. The second time I came here was Tuesday, July 8, 2025, and got blackened chicken Caesar salad and it was perfect and consistent with my 1st visit in April. I decided to come on July 10, 2025, to get the blackened chicken Caesar salad and it was dusted with blackened and tasteless. I brought it to the attention of the manager and she gaslighted me saying they cleaned the grill the night before instead of taking ownership that it was not prepared properly. As a result, I got a refund and left.
So on July 11, 2025, I decided to give them another chance. They messed it up again. The manager is going back and forth with me, instead of taking accountability and making it right. Instead of leaving with my blackened chicken Caesar salad to go, I left it there and walked out. I will NEVER GO AGAIN, inconsistent tasteless food and bad customer service, and bad management. I am attaching videos of both bad visits.

Years ago I enjoyed Lunch at a place called Humdingers. Fresh & Delish, lunch was always a delight. One day they closed, and today I found out they just moved to a better Location! Sure, the menu has changed over the years, but what I ate today confirmed Humdingers still got it going with their Piri-Piri Fish & Chicken (and Veggies). Yes, East Memphis is blessed with a myriad of dining choices, just saying Humdingers hits the spot when good food is needed.

i go here at least once a month. normally the food is cooked perfectly but the last 2 times it hasn’t been. today, 6/16 at lunch time, my salmon came out so undercooked i couldn’t eat any of it. the time before that my chicken in a wrap was still very pink.

A healthier option among limited healthy choices.

Always a quality meal. I got tilapia with piri-piri mushrooms, grilled zucchini and rice. My wife got crunchy fish and chips. It's been a while since I've been there, but I remembered squeeze bottles with different sauces -- no more. Convenient location at Massey and Poplar.

This is our second time here. We loved the food both times. My husband ordered the medium half chicken and I had a shrimp taco and fried avocado taco. Top notch!

Fish and Chips with NO chips.
I did not receive my chocolate chips cookie either.
And too expensive for a small piece of chicken.

I am frustrated!

Humdingers is one of my favorite restaurants. Shrimp & Grits are very good. The Brussels sprouts appetizer is good too. Clean restaurant & great customer service each time I've been here. Keep up the great work !

Absolutely delicious meal—the house salad with blackened tilapia, and my husband got the blackened tilapia with rice, pineapple salsa, and a side salad. Fresh ingredients, great servers, and relaxed atmosphere!

Food here is always amazing. Owners and staff are also always amazing. I’ve often seen the owners at the counter taking orders and running food! The seasoning on most of the menu is called “Piri piri” seasoning. Which is Swahili for “pepper pepper” so its obviously slightly spicy. I saw a less than good review from a person saying they were upset the food was a little spicy. So if it says “piri piri” just know that there will be some kick. Give it a google guys. If you don’t want it just let them know! They can withhold the seasoning! Don’t leave bad reviews on good food because you didn’t research. it’s meant to be similar to other South African cuisine in the Memphis area (in my opinion) if you’ve been to bonefish or similar. But very healthy! Grilled fish, grilled chicken, and grilled veggies are the majority of the menu. I’ve seen lots of business lunches and body builders when I’ve been there for lunch or dinner. The appetizer called “humdinger shrimp” is to die for. It’s fried shrimp tossed in a spicy aoili served over (what I think) is an aisan slaw. It’s my favorite. If you’re not interested in any of that then I would suggest asking for maybe a blackened salmon or tilapia over a Caesar salad or even a blackened salmon or tilapia in a Caesar wrap. The vibe inside the restaurant is similar to an upscale Mcalisters. You order at the counter and you can watch the staff cook your food through the glass windows. You get a number for your table and when your food is ready they bring it out. There is a self service drink counter also and several dessert options. I recommend the strawberry cake ❤️
