We recently dined at Folk Folly's, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had! From the moment we stepped through the door, we were enveloped in a warm and sophisticated atmosphere that set the stage for a memorable evening. My wife chose the salmon, and it was simply divine. Cooked to perfection, the fish was incredibly fresh and flaky, with a delightful seasoning that enhanced its natural flavors. The accompanying potatoes were creamy and well-prepared, making for a perfect pairing that she thoroughly enjoyed. I went for the steak, and it was an absolute triumph! Juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor, this was hands-down one of the best steaks I've ever had. Cooked exactly to my liking, it was accompanied by perfectly sautéed asparagus that added a nice crunch and vibrant color to the plate. The service at Folk Folly's was top-notch. Our server, Ashley, was knowledgeable and attentive, guiding us through the menu. Overall, our experience at Folk Folly's exceeded all expectations. The combination of exquisite food, attentive service, and a charming ambiance makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking a fine dining experience. We can't wait to return and explore more of their delightful menu! Highly recommended!
We dine here often, and I was planning to propose after dinner, but for some reason, the service took longer than usual this time. I ordered catfish and drinks as appetizers, but only the drinks arrived. My Long Island was full of ice from top to bottom and wasn't as strong as it usually is when I order it here. When our food finally came, the catfish never came out. At that point, I told the waiter not to bother bringing it out.
The service and food was excellent! Chris was our server. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and a house salad for appetizers. Our meal consisted of filet mignon, filet mignon medallions, loaded baked potato and warm bread. It was delicious!
I put in the reservation that we were celebrating my partners birthday. Everyone else in the restaurant must have been celebrating their birthday too because almost every table had a celebratory gold balloon provided by the restaurant placed at their table accept ours. It was very obvious that they overlooked the “celebrating partners birthday” note in the reservation even though it was put in there twice because all the other birthday tables were brought a cute little birthday treat with a candle in it after they finished their dinner. After we handed her the payment I told my partner “Happy Birthday” while she was still at our table and then she walked away and came back a second later and made something up about “somebody took your ballon” and then offered the little cupcake after we were already packed up and ready to go. The Folly Tidbits were very strange and served corn dog style on a stick with corn dog batter and still a bit mushy on the inside. There were about 6-8 different makes of potatoes you could choose from on the sides along with some random vegetables. Not sure why so many different potatoes The blueberry margarita was extremely weak and not worth $19.
My husband and I ordered the roasted artichoke and charred tomatoes over asparagus for an appetizer and it was so unique and absolutely amazing. We also got the garlic bread to sop up the extra tomato sauce...delish. My husband got the special, a bone-in filet, and I ordered the petite filet and it was literally the best steak I've ever had. We got the green beans and the lyonnaise potatoes, which were to die for. Speaking of to die for, the pecan pie with ice cream...WOW. Also fabulous dirty martini and espresso martini! And the service was fantastic. We hadn't been to Folk's Folly in so long - we definitely won't wait long again. It was absolutely amazing.
We went for a quiet anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. The staff made us feel special, and even had the table decorated for the event. Of course, the main thing is the food, and as always, the steaks were to die for. Wait staff were attentive but not intrusive; just right. Wine list is very good as well. If you would like a little pampering, this is the place.
Folks Folly is absolutely the best steak in Memphis. It is a bit pricey, but worth every cent of it. They are so much better than the high-end chain steakhouses here in town. Our service was excellent.
Enjoyed the time here abut my food was not to my expectations and chef dropped the ball. Everyone else foid in party was great. I ordered Branzino fish and got dry swordfish. I was amused, waitress told me what I wanted was a feature in the past. Well they took the order and brought me whatever they wanted me to have. Then I got lamb chops that weren't tasty at all. I didn't complain... happy everyone else enjoyed their meal too n my day. lol
Honestly love this place. Nice simple food menu and everything is delicious. Cozy, quiet, traditional vibe inside. Service is incredible. Only critique about the whole place is that the cocktail menu is lacking compared to the quality of the establishment. They need higher quality liquors, more exciting recipes, and just more variety in general for a nice restaurant like this.
Our waitress was very polite and pleasant. The wedge salad was the best part of our meal. Both our steaks were way under cooked. Cold on the inside. Seemed multiple tables had the same issue that night. For the amount of money we spent on the food definitely not worth the price.

We started with a cocktail in the lounge which was an excellent atmosphere. Our steaks were perfectly cooked. We enjoyed the twice baked potato and the spinach casserole. The entire experience was outstanding.
The experience was above and beyond my expectations! It was my daughter's 12th birthday and there were balloons on her chair, all of the wait staff wished her happy birthday, they brought her a celebration cupcake for dessert, and overall just made her feel like the most special person in the restaurant. The food was delicious as usual, the service was outstanding and I was thrilled we had chosen to spend her birthday there for dinner. Thank you to everyone who made her night so special and we will absolutely be back again soon!
Delicious, as always, with a stop in the lounge for some relaxing cocktails and great entertainment. The lamb and steaks were delicious and always a great evening out at Folk's!
Everything was wonderful The Salmon wasn't seasoned good but everything else was good. My mother picked my birthday dinner at a spot she used to go when she first moved to Memphis
The food was excellent. Appetizer was tasty, our steaks were cooked perfectly. The ambiance was very nice. The only down side was our server. He was not very personable or engaging as the waiter who was working the other section we were in. He did come back after getting our initial drink order to ask if my husband wanted another beer. Once our food was served, he never came back to the table to ask if everything was OK or see if we needed anything else. Usually the waiter will come back and ask. He came after we finished our entrees to ask about dessert. I think he was also working another section and that could have been the problem. Overall we were satisfied and would go back.
