This was my second visit — I came yesterday and returned today just to be sure my first experience wasn’t a fluke. Unfortunately, it confirmed my initial impression.

Today I ordered the meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, and dressing — usually reliable Southern staples that are hard to get wrong. However, everything tasted off — somewhat sour or possibly not fresh. I didn’t mention it to the staff because I had already sensed a bit of tension earlier when asking about the pricing, so I decided not to push the issue.

To be fair, every restaurant can have an off day, but the overall consistency and attitude toward customers left much to be desired. Compared to other local options like Southern Hands, the food here simply didn’t meet expectations — overly salty and lacking that warm, home-cooked flavor soul food is known for.

I truly hope others have a better experience, and that the restaurant takes this feedback as constructive criticism to improve food quality and customer service.

Came to pick up my too good to go order that was already reserved and paid for on 10/6 that had a window of pickup time by 5:15 got there and was DENIED!! instead the owner was putting the food in his vehicle stating that it was all gone. Horrible customer service!! There was no type of consideration AT ALL. and I have never eaten at this store before Definitely don’t recommend eating the food if the service is THAT TRASH -10000/10. Definitely won’t be recommending to anyone.

Stopped by here on the way out to the airport. No one recommended it but just saw it was a place close by the airport.

Whoever is answering that phone today, should not be! She Answered the phone like I was calling her cell phone! Then I asked for the price of the meat without sides! She guessed the amount and then said just come in it shouldn’t be more than $6! I was a bit speechless because that was pointless, the point of me calling was to know if it was worth it because their sides taste like they come from a can and I didn’t want it! I was like was just like ok then and she just hung up! Why must black business not have the proper customer service skills! I’m not from Memphis and I value good service so much so I decided to go eat elsewhere

This was the nastiest food I’ve ever had. The fired okra was so salty I threw them away. The hamburger steak taste like a frozen burger out of frozen food. The gravy was watered down and no seasoning. Cornbread was hard with no taste. I gave my plate to my dog and she sniffed it and walked away but didn’t eat it. So I threw it in the trash. Just nasty!!!!!

Good was really good and cheap.

Edit with meatloaf review. The most nastiest meatloaf I ever tasted in my life. Will never purchase that again. Mac and cheese was nasty as well. Didn't taste home made. This the only bad experience I've had here.

Food, let me say, is very good!!! Customer service was very good. The atmosphere could have been a little better. It could have been a little cleaner. But I will be returning again
