Neighborhood staple that never gets old

I love this place! If you're looking for a taste of authentic korean food, this is where you need to go. They're so kind and the food is delicious. They sang happy birthday to one of the staff members while I was there and it was so wholesome! 생일 축하 해요 🎉

They used to be so much better. The lettuce on my Greek salad was brown. The amount of meat in my, and my wife's sandwich, was sparse and paper thin. It's sad when places you've been going to for years seems to no longer care about quality or consistency. I never leave reviews, but it's just so dissapointing.

Always good and always a pleasure, one of the best delis in Memphis

Consistently the best food in the city. You can’t go wrong with the eclectic menu. For years my favorite item was the Hey Zeus although a couple years back I fell in love with the Bi Bim Bop. Today, it was the Kim Chi chicken burrito. Try something new and enjoy this Memphis jewel.

Update: yep, still delicious and best casual meal in town.

This place isn't a hidden gem, but it's certainly an underhyped one. The food here is INSANELY good. I'm in the process of eating a giant veggie muffuletta rn and it's so good that I think I might pass away. 100/10

This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in all of Memphis. The food is unique and not on delicious, but affordable too! As long as you don’t buy any of the drinks or snack or sides, anyway.
The one down side is that the staff isn’t particularly friendly and they don’t provide itemized receipts.

I am just speaking to food because I use Uber eats for this.

In the heart of Memphis, Tennessee, nestled amidst the vibrant energy of Midtown, lies a culinary gem known as Kwik Chek. This unassuming eatery, housed in a former convenience store, is a portal to a world of flavor, where Korean cuisine and deli classics intertwine in a delightful dance of taste and texture.

Among the many culinary enchantments Kwik Chek offers, the Bi Bim Bop with tofu stands out as a truly magical experience. Imagine a symphony of colors and textures, a canvas of vibrant vegetables, and a melody of flavors that dance upon your palate.

At the heart of this spellbinding dish lies a bed of fluffy white rice, a blank canvas awaiting its transformation. Upon this canvas, a kaleidoscope of sautéed vegetables emerges, each one contributing its unique hue and flavor to the masterpiece. Spinach, carrots, zucchini, and mushrooms, all glistening with a touch of sesame oil, create a tapestry of earthy delights.

Next, the star of the show takes center stage: tender cubes of tofu, pan-fried to golden perfection, adding a touch of protein and a subtle nutty flavor to the ensemble. A sprinkle of sesame seeds adds a hint of nuttiness, while a drizzle of soy sauce enhances the savory notes of the dish.

But the true magic of Bi Bim Bop lies in its versatility. You can customize your spell with a choice of sauces, each one adding a unique layer of enchantment to the experience. From the fiery kick of gochujang to the tangy sweetness of teriyaki, the possibilities are endless.

As you take your first bite, the flavors explode upon your tongue, a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and spicy notes. The textures, too, play a vital role in this culinary symphony, from the soft rice and tender tofu to the crisp vegetables and crunchy sesame seeds.

But the Bi Bim Bop experience is not just about taste and texture; it's a feast for all the senses. The vibrant colors of the dish are a visual delight, while the aroma of sesame oil and spices fills the air, creating an ambiance of culinary enchantment.

Kwik Chek's Bi Bim Bop with tofu is more than just a meal; it's an experience, a journey into a world of flavor and magic. It's a testament to the culinary creativity of Kwik Chek, a place where Korean traditions and deli classics converge to create something truly special.

So, if you find yourself in Memphis, yearning for a culinary adventure, step into the enchanting world of Kwik Chek and let the Bi Bim Bop with tofu cast its spell upon you. You won't be disappointed.

...But no Bi Bim Bop spell at Kwik Chek is complete without the enchanting addition of an egg. ?

Imagine this: as your bowl arrives, a symphony of colors and textures already captivating your senses, there, nestled atop this culinary masterpiece, lies a glistening, sunny-side-up egg. Its yolk, a golden orb, holds the promise of creamy richness, waiting to be released.

With a gentle poke of your chopsticks, the yolk surrenders, its golden lava flowing forth, mingling with the vibrant vegetables, the tender tofu, and the fluffy rice below. It's a moment of pure alchemy, transforming the Bi Bim Bop into an even more magical experience.

This golden elixir binds the elements together, adding a velvety texture and a rich depth of flavor. The yolk's subtle sweetness complements the savory notes of the dish, while its creamy consistency creates a harmonious balance with the crisp vegetables and tender tofu.

And as you savor each bite, the egg's magic continues to unfold. It coats your palate, enhancing the flavors of the other ingredients, making each mouthful a symphony of textures and tastes. It's a culinary crescendo, a testament to the power of simple ingredients combined with culinary artistry.

Tried it for the first time yesterday and everything smelled so good that I didn't know what to order. I got the Reuben and ended up taking half a muffuletta home with me for dinner. Both were delicious! I'm going to try an Asian dish next time as I'm sure it's good, too.
