Our experience was mostly due to a less than stellar waiter. He didn’t tell us about the specials (we heard another waiter tell a table after we had ordered). He did not tell us all of the items on the kids menu. We had to flag him down for almost every interaction and even had to order drinks from the bartender. Lastly, he forgot to put in one of our side dishes, so it wasn’t ready until after we had paid and completed our meal.

The food was hit or miss. The kid’s chicken tenders were way overcooked and dry, but kid’s menu items aren’t typically stellar. The poblano soup and lupara were under seasoned overall, but the house made sausage in the lupara was delicious. The short rib ravioli was excellent!

You couldn’t ask for a better atmosphere than a cute restaurant tucked into a local bookstore. Overall, if I lived nearby, I’d give Libro another shot.

We were having a cup of tea while others in our group were shopping in Novel. The menu was extensive and it was quite clear that this is the place to meet friends for a lovely lunch and catch up. The service was attentive and rapid. The food around us smelled delightful. We will be back for a lunch soon.

The restaurant offers an average dining experience with dishes that don't quite justify their higher price tags. I was disappointed to find wilted lettuce in the salads and the ventilation wasn't great, which meant lingering kitchen odors on clothes and hair. If you're looking for a good culinary experience, this place might not meet your expectations. However, it can be a decent option if you're in a pinch and need a meal. Overall, I probably wouldn't return unless there are no other options available.

I love Libro! Food is always great.
I had patio reservations this evening and when I arrived the hostess told me no I did not. The patio was full already. Disappointed as I confirmed via the email that I did make patio reservations and it was their mistake.

Delicious food and wonderful service. We went for Sunday brunch and all three of us really liked our food. The service was a-plus. Would definitely go again. Also, at Sunday brunch, they sometimes have musicians, like a guitarist playing while you enjoy your meal. Very nice touch.

They can do better. I wasn’t impressed. I did stop in for two happy hour drinks at the bar prior to dinner and the drinks were pretty good. When we got sat at the table, the place was not very busy, but it still took a very long period of time to take orders and to bring out food. I got the beef skewers, which for the price I felt was a little bit lacking. It was good quality though. My wife got the carbonara, which was relatively mediocre, extra salty. Took a very long period of time after we finished dinner for our plates to be cleared and we had to ask for a dessert menu without being offered it. The tiramisu had no coffee sauce and was very dry. The cobbler was peach strawberry, but only had peaches in it, would do better with actual strawberries in it as well. The topping to the cobbler was like a hard biscuit, which was difficult to eat and not very good. Overall, I was not very impressed, would not return here to eat. I’d consider coming back to just the bar for a cocktail during happy hour.

Great atmosphere, classic East Memphis location, and not an unreasonable wait time to be seated. Food was a bit pricy and a tad underwhelming but I’d visit again and maybe try something different! Loved the bookstore and being able to browse around while we waited to be sat!
