Grounds are nice. Bar is nice with helpful employees. Location is great. Many restaurants to walk to.
Lots of homeless ppl around but we didnt feel unsafe walking everywhere including at night.
Complaints are the $30 daily valet fee. Also the air conditioner in the room is loud. I like to have it cold when im sleeping and I kid you not, it woke me up several times when it kicked on. Room is small. No privacy when ur sharing the room and need privacy in the rest room.

I only went to the lobby for a birthday party. From what I saw, it was small. One of the guess stated the rooms were small. The bathroom on the lobby floor was clean.
The location is alright being downtown however it’s next to a loud bar making it hard to sleep.
The rooms are nicely decorated a little bare bones, and the air conditioning is rather loud.
My real issue is the mandatory valet service in order to park in the property, charging $30-35 per night! Making this rather affordable property significantly more expensive unless you choose to park in one of the nearby questionable parking garages.

The vibe at the Moxy is really unique: pinball machines in the lobby, eclectic and colorful decor, a bar at the check-in desk. The rooms are awesome, really great decor - small as you would expect in a city but the furnishings really maximize the space. The beds are comfortable. I knocked it down one star because as a light sleeper, it was a rough night. Let me clarify, my husband and my son slept great - they can sleep through anything - if you're a deep sleeper, then 10/10 stay here. If you're a light sleeper, I feel like with some preparation you can make this work: a good eye mask (I felt like the room didn't get dark enough) and a good set of ear plugs (the hotel obviously knows that noise is an issue, there is a bucket of earplugs in every elevator vestibule - the ear plugs were okay and incredibly appreciated, but you could probably source a more effective pair). I was awoken at 1am to what sounded like talking and again at 5am. Overall, great property to stay at.

5 out of 5 of us business travelers agree: we won’t ever stay here again. Let’s start with the pros: Free house cocktail or beer, free pinball and giant Jenga! Comfortable mattress, good A/C unit in the guest room, decent though small gym. Now to the cons: Required valet $29 a night, filthy guest rooms with dead and alive bugs, schmutz on every wall and bed, plumbing fixtures falling apart - 2 of us experienced the shower handle falling off while showering in fact!, mold and soap scum in every corner of the shower area, shower water pooling so badly outside of the shower that it takes two towels to mop up, towels smell like a sweaty locker room, very little counter space for toiletries, poorly lighted vanities. Of course we reported our issues and concerns to management, who provided limited support. Your college dormitory was better than this. Bring your Clorox wipes and good luck!

It’s definitely themed to appeal to millennials and those around that age, but as I am in that demographic, I thought it was cute. I knew when I booked I was going for a little more fun over the space and comfort I am used to from Marriott, but for a quick trip to Memphis, I really loved it! The activities were fun and the staff definitely add to the cool and hip atmosphere.

Great experience. Cool place. Comfortable, clean. Love the fact that there’s no carpet. Location is a short distance from Beale street. Literally 15 minutes from the airport. A short walk to Bass Pro Shop, the Conference Center and all other things to do. Don’t overpack!

My husband and I have never experienced an uncomfortable place like this one. Uncomfortable bed, small bathroom, hair was in the shower on walls, shower floor, moldy sink, no closets, dressers, front desk workers was not friendly. My husband nearly stumbled over a pink dog bowl with water in it, the bowl was in the walk way near the back entrance. We will never stay at a Moxy anything anymore. We were very surprised Marriott would have their name on it. My husband tried moving us into the Courtyard next door. The manager for the Moxy told my husband they had already received our funds for the stay they could not transfer us. Disappointing!!
I had a horrific experience at the Moxy Memphis Downtown. I have never been so uncomfortable with service provided by a hotel. There was a large group of non-guests loitering outside the front entrance (drinking, loud music, hanging out of their vehicles) of which the one security did nothing to clear but seemingly was interacting with. I called guest services only to be pressured to come through the crowd of people in order to check in. The front desk clerk Lo, was very unprofessional and dressed in a hoodie, jeans, no name tag or uniform. She was not pleasant and seemed very irritable after asking her questions about all of the people and how security did nothing regarding the safety of their guest. As a punishment from having been concerned with my safety at the hotel I was placed on the floor with barking dogs in the rooms adjacent. I was would been inclined to believe this was all they had left had another guest check in right behind me and get placed two floors down. Outside of my window, in the back of the hotel was constant commotion, loud music and screaming from those on the streets. I asked about valet which is apparently split between other hotels in the same area. The two valet attendants did not have on any identification (name tags, branded shirts/uniform) so it was impossible to know who worked at the Moxy and who was a guest. I was told that I would receive a text messages with information to retrieve my car in the next 10 minutes. After 20 minutes of being inside my room, I realized I had not received ay communication regarding my vehicle. Went back downstairs to ensure they had the right information (phone number, room number) one valet attendant who had earphones in told me that it had gotten busy and he was going to send messages out now. I go back to my room for another hour and still nothing. This time a call the front desk and ask her if there was anything I needed to do as I hadn’t received the message from the valet and was worried that there might be an issue. Her response was very unprofessional, “there’s nothing you can do and I don’t work for valet. I can’t stop you from coming down to the lobby but I’ll make sure they get this message. If you want to come down, then that’s on you”. I told her I’d call her back and let her know what I wanted her to do. I packed my suitcase and prepared to check out of the hotel at 1:30am. When I called back to lobby it was the valet attendant saying that their system was down and that I should receive the message in a few hours. I asked him to bring the car around and he did. When I got to the front desk, no one was there. Security was off to the side on his phone and I asked how long before the person at the front desk would be back. She was outside and walked in without asking anything about my stay or why I was in the lobby at almost 2am with my luggage after only checking in less than 2 hours prior. I asked for the managers name or card and there wasn’t any. She wrote the manager’s name on a sticky note and assured me that someone would give me a call first thing in the morning. They did not. I had to call from the hotel that I checked into at 2:00am without any issues. I checked in and out of the hotel within 2 hours. The worst experience ever.

The staff at this location is wonderful and very friendly! Your stay includes a free drink token, which is such a nice touch and warm welcome. The rooms are clean and fully stocked. The location is about a 15min walk to Beale St. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

This hotel is bare bones for sure in the way of services and amenities. That being said it is a boutique brand so designed that way. The service was terrible as was what little food they have. There was a shooting right outside the hotel when I was there so be careful in the area.
No ironing boards or irons in rooms. Just steamers, not a comfortable room. I asked for my AC to be checked, no one showed up.
Had to wait 20 mins for my car, you are forced to valet, found the valet in the back sleeping. When you have an early morning flight that’s not great. I would not stay here again.
