I ordered plain fried rice.. they didnt let it cook all the way it was undone grains of rice in my food, the people who work there they simply rush you and are not patient, and its very cluttered in the waiting area.
I’ve been here plenty of times since I moved to this area years ago. I’ve never had a problem and the food has always been great…until recently.
On Wednesday, June 4, 2025 my fiancé called in an order. After he picked it up we ate dinner and watched a movie. I had the General Tso’s chicken combo, and it was tough. My fiancé had General Tao’s shrimp and fried rice.
Thursday morning I left out to run errands before going to an important interview, but I didn’t make it to the interview. That’s because, as I was on my way to the store, I had to pull over because I suddenly felt the need to puke. An hour later my fiancé was having the same issue at work. It’s Friday and we’re both still nauseous.
As I stated before, I have been ordering from this place for years so I have no idea what took place at the restaurant Wednesday night, but this is not cool.
One of my few goto places for some great Chinese food. Always hot and always fresh!! Quick too!! I've had a variety of dishes from here, and they have all tasted fantastic!! Highly recommend!! If you're in the area or staying in the downtown area, this place is a must try!!
Great Food every visit
The sweet and sour chicken is still great. I've been coming here, for past 10 years. I usually call & make order and then pick up within 20 minutes.
I've eaten here a few times and the food is always been great the service is fast and one of my favorite dishes is the General Tso's chicken with the lo mein noodles I always look forward to eating here
Not a place to sit down and eat, but fabulous to pick up and take back to work. Veggie Egg Foo Young and Veggie Eggroll were hot and delicious. I was skeptical to try them after reading the reviews, but I'm glad I did.
Rude.. you can take my money but I can’t use your restroom, I walk in you closed the curtains where you was cooking like you had something to hide. I work hard for my coins so I’ll take my business elsewhere
I biked over to have the BBQ spare ribs I saw on the menu on-line but was told they had none and left without ordering because there was a sign that said the dining room was closed so take out only. You may want to call 1st.

Familiar menu. Fast service. Friendly people. It’s your standard Ameri-Chinese dive fare but the the flavors are outstanding. Best Chinese food I’ve had in years. Don’t let the ambiance dissuade you. This is not a sit-down experience. They have a couple hard-booth tables along the window but that seemed to be where people sit just to wait for their order-up. Great deal. Lots of food. I recommend the wonton soup! And the spare ribs are really fatty, but delicious.

I called to place an order over the phone. The guy that answered the phone stated that I was asking too many questions, told me to come in and place the order, and hung up in my face.

I no longer live in Memphis but visit often. My go to Chinese was Shang Hai on Poplar but they closed down. I was staying downtown and came across New Lin's and decided to order from here. I was surprised at how good and flavorful the food was. We got combination fried rice, house special egg fu young, and orange chicken. I've never had egg fu young gravy this good. Everything was yummy and they give you a lot. Those three dishes lasted my family two night as well. I'd recommend them for sure.

Rude !
The customer service was pretty awful. They tried to charge me 15 for just white rice and orange chicken and didn’t tell me it’s cheaper for the combo until I said something. Then, the menu clearly says combo has a soda and they didn’t give me a drink and I asked them and they said no. What combo comes without a drink? Lol. The orange chicken was mediocre. I won’t be going back. Just to bad of a first impression.
