They have the best iced coffee!

My experience with the staff here was awful. The coffee could be much better too, especially if they’re going to be as rude as they are. I don’t know how anyone could ever comfortably come here to just hang out, study, any of the sort. It is sad that so many places are so rude nowadays.

Freshly roasted beans hit you as soon as you open the door. Love that.

EDIT: I am changing my review back to 5 stars, cause I came here to get some work done on my laptop today, and the wifi worked! Thanks, guys! 🫂
I've been coming to this coffee shop since I was 7 years old. I remember when it used to be a futon store. I've done most of my homework for high school here, studied for exams here, even wrote my first couple research papers here. Otherlands has a special place in my heart. But, guys, I say this with all the love in my heart, please figure out the wifi situation. 🥺🙏 It seems to have gotten worse lately. I basically either have to tether my computer to my phone or download all my files ahead of time and work offline. The main reason I come here is to get work done, and I want to keep coming here and giving you my business. ❤️ Love you.
PS - to anyone reading this, if you don't know what to order, get the bagel sandwich. I recommend an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. Whenever I've been away from home for too long, I start to dream about that secret sauce 🥹
Love coming in here to work. Great vibe.

I stopped in today and asked the barista (longer hair) if the chai was more on the spiced or sweet side. He replied, “however you want,” in a way that felt oddly dismissive, almost like a parody of a too-cool barista. The vibes were a little weird from the start, cool, no worries. Then I started to order said chai, but mid-sentence he turned his head and started talking to someone else.
I’ve worked in the service industry for 13 years and always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but the interaction was unnecessarily rude and condescending. It was such a strange experience that I ended up leaving.

A homeless man was sitting at the bar with a coffee and water. A gray haired lady came and blasted the poor guy and threatened to call the cops. He wasn't doing anything. Just sitting there. Horrible to do that to a person and got on to a person for giving him water and told them not to serve him. He is a person too. Will not ever recommend this place.

SO MUCH SEATING and a DELICIOUS Reese's mocha! Highly recommend if you're in Memphis and worth the drive if you're not.

Good coffee, tasty sweets, cool vibe...
My kind of place. Best chai I’ve had in ages - and they offer it unsweetened. Hubby says coffee is good. Had the bagel and tomato basil cream cheese. Very tasty. Great atmosphere.
It’s a must visit every time I’m in Memphis. A funky place that one would only see here or in Austin; it’s a spot where all ages can find something fun to look at or hide and work. It has a fish tank and some badass cinnamon toast, add in their iced mocha and I’m good.

We were recommended this place by our lyft driver and decided to check it out. Unfortunately this was one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had. The baristas were entirely apathetic towards any guests that I could tell, not necessarily rude but almost SNL/Portlandia levels of hipster attitude stereotype. My partner and I both ordered iced lattes with oatmilk and despite ordering two different sizes we received the same size glass. Mine had an extra shot of espresso but was still so incredibly weak and milky. As an ex barista of 9 years I’m not just talking from a place of ignorance but I would recommend they reassess their bean choice and that their shots are coming out very weakly extracted.
I will say the decor was very retro and indicative of the era it was built which was very nostalgic for me and I enjoyed the art and mismatched tables and chairs. That being said, some could use some repair.
The food was just fine. Nothing remarkable but not worth complaining about, and in fact the Heidi’s breakfast was pretty damn good and I would have that again but won’t be back due to the combination of drink quality and general atmosphere. I think this place could turn things around and utilize their space to make some great drinks and food if they can get their workers to care at all.
