Good coffee, tasty sweets, cool vibe...

My kind of place. Best chai I’ve had in ages - and they offer it unsweetened. Hubby says coffee is good. Had the bagel and tomato basil cream cheese. Very tasty. Great atmosphere.

It’s a must visit every time I’m in Memphis. A funky place that one would only see here or in Austin; it’s a spot where all ages can find something fun to look at or hide and work. It has a fish tank and some badass cinnamon toast, add in their iced mocha and I’m good.

We were recommended this place by our lyft driver and decided to check it out. Unfortunately this was one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had. The baristas were entirely apathetic towards any guests that I could tell, not necessarily rude but almost SNL/Portlandia levels of hipster attitude stereotype. My partner and I both ordered iced lattes with oatmilk and despite ordering two different sizes we received the same size glass. Mine had an extra shot of espresso but was still so incredibly weak and milky. As an ex barista of 9 years I’m not just talking from a place of ignorance but I would recommend they reassess their bean choice and that their shots are coming out very weakly extracted.

I will say the decor was very retro and indicative of the era it was built which was very nostalgic for me and I enjoyed the art and mismatched tables and chairs. That being said, some could use some repair.

The food was just fine. Nothing remarkable but not worth complaining about, and in fact the Heidi’s breakfast was pretty damn good and I would have that again but won’t be back due to the combination of drink quality and general atmosphere. I think this place could turn things around and utilize their space to make some great drinks and food if they can get their workers to care at all.

My friend and I have been coming here for the past few days to study and have always made a point to purchase something when we visit (besides yesterday because we came later in the afternoon and weren’t in the mood for coffee). Yesterday was the first time the owner ever saw us—and today, she left a note accusing us of never purchasing anything, stating she’s “never seen us with a cup or a dish.” We’d only been there an hour and a half.

After asking to speak with her (she left the note and walked away), she admitted that she’s not here every day, which makes her assumption even more frustrating and baseless.

If she had any concerns, they could have easily been addressed with a simple, respectful conversation. Instead, we were approached in a passive aggressive manner that completely disregarded us as paying patrons. The lack of professionalism and tact is what stood out most.

We have no problem supporting small businesses and always aim to be respectful guests—but respect should be mutual. This experience left a sour taste, and it’s unfortunate that a place we were starting to enjoy chooses to treat customers this way. Going forward, it might be helpful to add a sign saying that purchase is mandatory :)

Food was good, I got tortilla chips with no cheese along with my turkey and cheese sandwich? I was able to sit for a while in a quiet space to do work. They have good and tasty decaf options.

Whoever fixed that turkey patty melt deserves a raise and the kind young lady who took my order was amazing. Iam definitely coming back 😁

The interior is cute and unique, it’s just a shame their customer service is so bad. I don’t know if the woman was the owner but she didn’t bother to even say hello while I was looking at the menu. The man who took my order was very meh as well. It was a very unwelcome environment and I don’t think I’ll come back which is too bad because I love trying out new places.

I am not associated in any way but I’d suggest checking out Java Cabana down the street where they’re quite a bit friendlier than here. Hopefully they won’t reply to this review in a sassy way like they have others and will try to be more welcoming and friendly in the future.

I’ve been here a few times for study sessions and I’ve genuinely never been treated nicely by the staff. It’s so sad because it’s a nice spot to get work done. Also, I hope some of the furniture gets updated and maybe some cleaning? Some of their chairs are literally falling apart, especially in the back corners near the fish tanks. I’ve had the iced lattes and their frozen mochas previously - just regular coffee, nothing special. But service really needs some work, just a general greeting or smile would be nice instead of, “what can I get you”.

Stopped in for a latte and bagel last weekend while visiting Memphis. Fantastic bagel and the deck was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

Y'know, I used to like this place, but the energy here has just gotten... gross? This place has really gone downhill since COVID.

Great place! Heidi's Special is one of the best things I've put in my mouth. The menu is very unique and interesting, coffee is good. Indoor and outdoor seating with good vibes. Highly recommend.
