Red Hook Cajun Seafood & Bar (Union Ave)

The restaurant smelled of something weird. Like old mop water. The floor was sticky. The food was mediocre. The service was okay. I probably want be going back.

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star if I could. We went last night for my daughter's birthday, had reservations and when we got there no one would greet us. Finally got someone spoke to us but still took 20 minutes to get our RESERVED table. Just before, we all went upstairs to use the restroom and the SMELL was disgusting, in both women and men's restroom. No soap in either. Back at the bar was a man constantly yelling obscenities, enjoying his crowd. Was not told to quite down. Staff standing around but not working. Finally get a table and took another 15 minutes to be acknowledged. Told the server what was going on hoping she would reassure us our experience would get better but all she said was "ok". There were 6 of us and i would say easily, they let $300 walk out the door. Our money wasn't good enough. I called Firebirds on Hwy 64 to make sure they had room for us, told them about our experience and they treated us witj the warmest hospitality. To say we won't be back is an understatement!

We stood waiting for someone to acknowledge us for at least 5 minutes, it took over 2 hours to do lunch because the service was so slow definitely not quick in and out, we were NOT high maintenance- had drink and food order at one time one check etc - slow service food was good but bathroom and details like windows had huge spider webs… not a repeat venue for me

Great seats, screen, sound system. Food is OK, but crazy expensive $20 for 6 wings.Asked for Buffalo but got BBQ.

Was greeted when we entered and got a table quick. Our waitress was okay. Ordered a glass of wine, and when I got it, lipstick and hand prints were on it. #Dirty glass. Didn't see our waitress, so I took it back to the hostess and received a clean glass. I ordered the Tuesday special extra spicy. Well, upon digging in, it was mild and bland. The waitress didn't come back until we finished our meal. She didn't do a check-in so I could exchange my meal. I ate it and drank my wine out a straw. We didn't receive any crab crackers, so I had to use my teeth. Again, she didn't come back, and if I waited, my food would have been cold. Was not pleased this visit. This was my experience this visit.

I was disappointed in the service as well as the food. I have been sick everyday since I left this place. I have enjoyed previous visits to this place. My order was wrong. Fried fish was a little bitter maybe not kept at the right temperature before frying. The waitress said the cook was mad about something. She didn't refill beverages or asked to refill beverages. This was an awful experience. She did fix ticket before bringing it to me

Went here today for my moms birthday. Service 0/10 wouldn’t recommend. Whole hour before we got our drinks. Never returned with straws! Took sooooo long to bring receipts. We ended up getting own to go boxes from a cabinet in the room also napkins straws. Granted it was a big party so gratuity was included I guess that’s why she decided not to work that hard! Retrain waitress or get someone qualified for the job!!

Great food! The catfish fillet is delicious.. great atmosphere and decor. I only had take out so that why my service is 3 star, but when I picked up my food it was fresh, hot ,and delicious.

I know that every restaurant has it's bad days, obviously this was one of those for Red Hook on Union Avenue today. They were short staff having only 1 waitress for the entire restaurant. I give it to her. She was running around trying to serve everyone. But the other staff members who could have helped her, just stood around. We waited around 30 minutes or more for our drinks. The appetizers never came. Customers were waiting all over the restaurant. It seemed like the thing to do was to order pick up or use a food service to deliver. The dine experience was not good. I'm contemplating if I want to give it another try.

AMBIANCE is AMAZING .. the converted house adds a flair of luxury to the dining experience without a haughty dress-code. The staff is SUPERB, attentiveness was on point, and everyone was courteous. Definately coming here AGAIN.

Dinner was great, the only downside is that they serve crab legs with nothing to crack them open. They have us a tool to slide but it didn't work very well. The staff was superb and I'll definitely return, just won't be ordering crab again.
