I thought I was going to a new spot on Madison. Turns out I had been there YEARS ago. Glad to see they have maintained their location. Food was good and service started off good but fell off when it was time for our check. Made me not want to return.

I’ve been to dozens of places that serve arepas, which gives me a fair basis for comparison.

Service: The service was decent—staff was polite and offered help with the menu. I’d rate this aspect 4 stars.

Food: The taste was average. Given the pricing, I expected the arepas to be generously filled, similar to other places, but the portion was more like a typical homemade serving. Additionally, one arepa was advertised with grilled chopped...

I missed the small note on the menu about included service fee for “4+”, and I didn’t expect it to be included on a single bill for party of 4 leading to a huge unintentional double+ tip. That always makes me feel a bit ripped off.

Food and service were pretty good, though.
