I really like this place but have shown up multiple times when Google hours say open, but they are closed. Wish they would respect customers enough to update.

This weekend the air was out so yeah it was hot, hopefully it will be fixed for their Sake event. The food and drinks is outstanding.

One of my favorite restaurants in Memphis, the food is consistently amazing and every time I come back, I’m always impressed! It is a little bit loud inside but it’s never too bad!

Food tasted exceptional. Give it a 4.5 starsPortion size in relation to price: 1.5 Star. Pricey for very small portions.Service: 4. She was really helpful in explaining everything.Atmosphere: 2 stars. Water dripped from vent down the middle of the restaurant. Also had flies around table.

I am rating it as a two, but it is somewhere between a 2 - 3 stars. The food was really good and tasted great. The portion size compared to price is ridiculous on several of the items. For a group of 4, we ordered 6 menu items and two of us left hungry. If you go when you are hungry, be prepared to spend a decent amount of money comparatively. To be fair, we also ordered two alcholic drinks (again, as with the food, the size to price was unexpectedly very small).Service was great. The attendant explained everything in detail and was very attentive. Atmosphere could have been much better. There was water dripping from vents in the middle of the restaurant and could not get rid of pesky flies.

Wait staff was extremely friendly and food came out fast after ordering. Interesting flavors, but textural execution is lacking. For example on the dumplings, the skin is very thick and doughy. At the same time, the flavor of the dumplings is excellent as we tried all of them. Yakatori is very good, wish they had a wider selection of meats / veg to choose from. Pork belly was definitely our favorite. Udon noodle soups were nice, but slightly overly salty. Miso chocolate pie is very creative and interesting, nice sweet / savory / fragrant balance.Overall I’d recommend trying salt soy for the flavors they put together. The textual / execution of the dishes leaves something to be desired, but they’re very reasonably priced and wait staff is great.

I had a lot of recommendations to come here. I was very much looking forward to it. We made a Saturday reservation and we're seated promptly. Service was great. The only thing I had wrong with the day is food. When seated, it was the napkin fold and immediate water filling that made the service even better. Now on to the food:Everything we ordered:Salmon nigiri: decent fish, bad riceTuna nigiri: good fish, bad riceHamachi nigiri: great fish, bad riceI don't know if we got a bad batch of rice, but it was undercooked and fell apart while eating it. The fish was all good, but nigiri is about the rice too.Hamachi sashimi in brown butter: this was definitely the most flavorful and delicious dish. But for the portion it was very expensive.Mushroom udon: slightly salty, but full of a lot of flavor and a great dish to "fill you up".Chicken thigh skewer: for dark meat chicken it was over cooked and dry. The flavor was delicious and wish they could include a dipping sauce. Pork belly skewer:the fatty bites were delicious, but the meat was veryyyy chewy.Drinks were well made.

I went to salt soy last night and it was a great time. Our server was great and knowledgeable about the menu. It was a great space for conversation and I look forward to working at the bar when I have a low time at work. I can't wait to go back!

Every time I come here I'm astounded at the amount of high quality and uniquely delicious food I get, and even more impressed at how affordable the experience was. Perhaps my favourite restaurant in Memphis. I always enjoy whatever I order to eat or drink here.

The menu has been carefully crafted (creative with delicious food at a great price point) every time I've visited. Yes Memphis is landlocked, but if you're gonna go for sushi definitely add Salt|Soy to your list of options. I'll be back!

Super cute spot in the Broad District. We decided to stop in after attending a pilates class a few businesses over. Street parking is available, but depending on the time of the day, it might require you to park a little further down or around the corner. Upon entry, it's very cozy and inviting. We opted for bar seating as we were the only patrons at the time. The staff was super friendly and helpful with suggestions. During the lunch hour, only options are appetizers and sushi. There is also a happy hour on well drinks. I started with a cosmo and spicy crawfish rolls. Shortly after, our server suggested we try the potato salad and brought us a sample. Super delicious. The bartender later made us a mule, which was pretty good. By this time, I decided to order the potato salad, which I thoroughly enjoyed. There is a large patio area which I'd love to visit when the weather improves. Highly suggest visiting this spot. Great food, cocktails and relaxed environment.

The service was good, but the sushi was not good. )-: The sushi was a bit soggy and the flavor was not right. A bit overpriced. It is a good place to hang out with people, but does not serve authentic Japanese food.

You can not miss the steamed dumplings in chili oil, chili crab udon, or brussels sprouts!
