Now let's be clear. Jackie elevated the entire experience. Professional. Attentive. Well-informed. She anticipated needs before they were voiced and carried herself with confidence and warmth. Timing was excellent — no rushed courses, no long gaps. She understood the menu thoroughly and made recommendations that hit. That level of service is what separates a good restaurant from a premium one. Jackie is an asset to Itta Bena's brand. Period.
This trip to Itta Bena on an Orpheum night was a mixed bag. We recommend the caesar salad, the crab soup and the sauce on the cajun pasta. The service was good, not outstanding. Without significant changes to the recipe, avoid the crab cakes. On the helpful side, we were served and out the door right on time for the show.
Speakeasy vibe, upscale feel and the food was absolutely delicious. The sweet potatoe casserole, mac and cheese, asparagus, filet mignon and lump crab soup were on point. We tried to return for our 2nd night but it was closed for a private event. Best experience in Memphis.
