I’ve visited this location no less than 4 times and each time it was excellent. On this particular occasion, 4/5/2024, the service was excellent but the food was HORRIBLE! I ordered a whiskey sour (sweet & sour and Makers Mark whiskey), I was brought a whiskey with carrot juice! The waitress advised the bartender was practicing….the waitress made my drink over and it was perfect! I order the New York strip-cooked medium. It was tasteless, extremely fatty, and had the texture of a low grade sirloin. I must admit this was the first time S.O.B. was not good. Maybe they were having a bad day.

This location is great for date night, family dinners or have a seat at the bar. This restaurant has a great vibe and plays a mix of music. The menu has vegan options. Our server was great always attentive to our needs. We will return very soon.

This restaurant is always a great experience from the moment I walk in to the moment I leave. The delicious food and cocktails are consistent and always perfection. The waiters are top tier and the service is exceptional. Will be going there again soon because I can't get enough.

Both parties that had brunch last Sunday had an extra 50$ charges on our bills, then our credit cards were used to purchase fraudulent items in the days after. Mine got hit for a burner phone and a 53 dollar meal at sonic. Unfortunately, in Memphis this is all too common and the thief's aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

The atmosphere is relaxing. The bartender Jared fix my drink perfect, it was my first time having it. No picture of the blackened catfish cause i order mines with everything separate. The andouille succotash packs unexpected flavors.

This was my first time trying SOB east or SOB period. I ordered take out and picked it up. The staff was very personable and greeted me immediately . I ordered the 361 salad, the sob burger and fries and the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. The salad was super small with very little toppings for $19, definitely would not get again. The egg rolls were just okay, I tasted more bell pepper than anything else. But the star of the show was definitely the burger and fries, the meat was very high quality, the bun was so soft and all the veggies were super fresh, the fries were just fries but very good. I loved the burger so much I came back the next day to get it. I definitely would go back just for the burger and try some other things on the menu.

Great food, great service and great drinks! Everything we had was delicious, and served promptly. If I had one negative thing to say it would be that there was virtually no chicken on the skewer for the Filipino bowl. Other than that, place is worth trying!

The location is easily accessible downtown, it's clean and looks GOOD inside. The menu is varied but has options for everyone. I had the salmon, and OMG, amazing! Melt. In. Your. Mouth. The meat was perfectly seared to just the right amount, almost crispy, but the rest was meat-butter! The vegetables had some kind of amazing seasoning in them, absolutely delicious! Highly recommended, and I rarely add such reviews unless the experience was amazing!!

SOB (South of Beale) restaurant in Memphis is an establishment that I absolutely love every time I visit. The consistent quality of their food and the exceptional service make it a standout dining experience for me. During my early visits, I was delighted by their soul food bowl, which included a succulent fried chicken thigh, sweet potatoes or yams, and collard greens. Unfortunately, it seems they have removed this dish from their menu, perhaps due to concerns about its richness. Nonetheless, it was a truly delicious option that I miss. On another occasion, I indulged in their seafood soup, a delightful medley of mussels, shrimp, and fish. The flavors were incredible, and I thoroughly enjoyed every spoonful. SOB's ability to adapt and change their menu keeps things exciting and ensures that there is always something new and enticing to try. Currently, my favorite dish on their menu is the catfish succotash. The combination of perfectly cooked catfish and the flavors of the succotash is simply mouthwatering. I am eagerly planning my next visit to indulge in this delectable dish. One unique touch at SOB is that they serve popcorn on the table instead of bread. The popcorn has an interesting flavor that adds a fun twist to the dining experience. Make sure not to forget to ask for it while you wait for your appetizers and main course. SOB's bar is fully stocked and offers a fantastic selection of drinks. The bartenders are skilled and attentive, ensuring that you have a great experience with your beverage of choice. In addition to their downtown location on Main Street, SOB also has a branch in East Memphis. I believe their sister restaurant is a liquor store, although I haven't had the chance to visit it yet. I am excited to explore this option in the future and share a separate review. In conclusion, I highly recommend SOB restaurant in Memphis. The versatility of their menu, combined with their consistent service and delightful dishes, make it a must-visit establishment. Whether you choose the downtown or East Memphis location, you are in for a treat. Make sure to try the catfish succotash and enjoy the unique popcorn on the table.

We had a wonderful time at SOB East. We returned again with our red envelope and cards to see if we won any great prizes. The ambiance is very classic and sophisticated. I enjoy the decor inside. The lighting is not too bright but just right for lunch. The parking lot has many spaces at lunch time. There were many patrons eating here. Service was great. We had Julie. She is always a very attentive server and nice. She helped us even with the challenging water boil alert. She is patient and has a commanding voice which is helpful with a large party. My food was tasty. The Filipino bbq skewer was small but flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the seasonings and sauce were on point. I did eat all of the egg roll. It was crunchy and very delicious. I didn't eat all of my meal. I plan to eat the rest for dinner. When I return, I don't think I will order this again. May try the burger or another sandwich. This place is consistently a great place to dine. I will return.
