If you like bacon & eggs this is your place. Just don’t order anything else for breakfast. The grits were peppery & rubbery. The “hashbrowns” were just not good. The sausage had not flavor except pepper. And if you have biscuits make sure you have something to drink so you don’t choke to death. Finally, their “hand made beignets” are really pate a choux dough overfried in the same oil as everything else. No resemblance of beignets at all!

Very disappointed. I asked for the breakfast tacos, and I took a picture of what I received. Our waitress was great and agreed with the lack of food on the plate. I sent back the plate to the kitchen and was charged for it until I made the staff aware. The manager did the fix the ticket, however, walked past us and did not try to apologize or mediate the situation. I am used to better customer service than this. I do not recommend this restaurant.

A hidden gem that should be placed on the top places to visit in Memphis, TN. I came during brunch today and was not disappointed, as I am a very hard pleaser. My experience was memorable and delightful . I was greeted immediately with a smile and received exceptional customer service. Melissa, who seated us outside per our preference was amazing. Our server Sterling provided top notch service from start to finish♥️ Sterling is the true representation of what a server should be and bring to any place. We need more people to model after her. The Owner came to our table and greeted us. He took the time to have a real conversation with my table before and after we ate our food. The food came out fast and the ingredients were fresh and purchased locally. Our drinks were the talk of our table. I recommend Tenero for any brunch or lunch as you will be happy you stopped by. They are one of my top five restaurants to visit in Memphis. Thank you all for a memorable start to my weekend ? So what are you waiting for visit them today if you are seeking something fresh, delicious, memorable service, and worth every dollar.

The manager/owner, Michelle, is such a sweetheart! She worked with me to squeeze us in for Father's Day for brunch! God bless her! She is a great hugger too! :)The price of the food is very reasonable! The kitchen is small, so I would not say this place is ideal for large crowds. Also, since the kitchen is small, it takes a while for things to be remade, and there is a chance things may not come out piping hot if they have been sitting up.The food is ok. I'll list what we had of what I can remember and our reactions.Salmon Croquettes - They were good, but the person that ordered them makes them better at home.Sliced Lox Eggs Benedict - My food was not hot, but the taste was good! The Stack [Pancakes] - They look great, but they just tasted ok. Presentation is definitely what made me order them, but I would not order them again. Also, they were not hot. The butter wasn't melting. I had to ask them to remake my pancakes.Chicken and Waffle - My mother's waffle was not hot. She had the waffle remade. She liked her chicken and said that it was hot. My brother-n-law gave the impression that it was your standard chicken and waffles.Beef Carnitas Eggs Benedict - My dad really enjoyed his eggs benedict, so I would say that they were good based off his comments.People also had mimosas, which I think were good based on their feedback. The patio has a nice covering with fans and heaters to accommodate for the season. I prefer to sit here as it is nice and comfortable seating!Welp, that's my review! But, don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself!

There was about a 15 minute wait when we got there. The hostess was super nice. The tables are a little too close too each other so we got a booth. Food came out pretty quickly. The potatoes were room temperature. The sandwich was very good. Pancakes were great. Overall it was decent. I wouldn't mind going back.

Amazing food, drinks, and service. Went for a Sunday Brunch and couldn't have been happier with everything that was ordered. You'll need multiple trips to try it all. Everything looked AMAZING.

I’m a regular customer here and I must say this is one of my most favorite brunch spots. The food and customer service quality is always TOP TIER. You’re acknowledged and assisted immediately when you walk through the door and this place always have a welcoming atmosphere. My favorite dishes to get is the salmon croquettes, breakfast tacos (with salsa) and breakfast panini. My only complaint is for the price, I wish you could get at least three salmon croquettes for $13 rather than just two. They’re usually not that busy during the weekdays, but on the weekends it’s usually a wait time however you still get in through the door fast. Very clean and professional with good quality food. Can’t wait to try out their dinner menu. 20/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was delicious we had the Memphis merge and the chicken and waffles. As well as the sweet tart mimosa. The food came out quick which was a plus.

Went for a family member's birthday brunch (7 of us). The atmosphere and service were good. I usually go for breakfast foods but wasn't allowed to replace the eggs, so I ordered a chicken sandwich & sweet potato fries. It was good, well seasoned. And so was the food of 4 others.2 family members ordered the shrimp & grits and were a little disappointed with it. They said that the grits to meat ratio was very low; it was a bit spicy (they regularly eat spicy foods), and the shrimp were overcooked. They also felt that the beignets were a little undercooked & doughy.

It was just ok. Small menu but things can be tailored for your tastes. My kid had the chicken and waffles but couldn't finish because it was dry. I had the Memphis Merge and once I poured out the bowl on the plate and cut into my medium egg yolk, it was tasty. Add salt & pepper. I would get this again but sub ham with chorizo instead. My fave was the fruit bowl which I asked for a side of honey to drizzle over it. DeeeeeLiiiiiiiiCiiiooouuussss!Watching the cook staff handle our food with their bare hands in front of us was off-putting. We prayed over it. ? ?Coffee was good. Very clean. The air didn't smell of food so big ups to their ventilation system but there's something to be said about walking and smelling what you're in for. Hospitality was decent. Atmosphere lacked personality. It's still new so they are finding their way. Worth a try but make your meal your own. Add or take away to make it work.

Great coffee!! The service was good. Had the eggs Benedict with pulled pork, it was a A bit dry and missing something - avocado or a kick of flavor. I think I would get something different next time, but I would return!

Well I'm back and it's been awhile, but here is the skinny on Southall Cafe. Me and my wife have been trying to eat at this location for almost a year whenever we travel to Memphis and today we got that chance. First off the owner is super nice he greeted us and sat us. Then he took the time and conversed with us, and that yielded me a FREE bowl of gumbo ? ? (SCORE!!!!!). So our food was amazingly wonderful, to quote the chef who also came to our table ? "not bad for a white boy from New York huh?" No sir not bad at all.

I’ve eaten here before and thought the food was good and the hostess was very friendly, but today we sat for 20+ minutes watching our server go to multiple tables completely ignoring us. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Don’t ask for Taylor if other servers are available.

I just went to Southall Cafe for the first time. It was excellent! The owner and staff are very friendly and courteous. The food is absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going back and can’t wait to try a Bloody Mary!:)
