Southern Hands is definitely a household name.

Locations are great and it's easy to do business. Order online, pay, and pick up is the easiest way to go. Eat in is second. Getting in line to order, and their line be(is) long is super weird in 2025, but people do it.

I use to eat at the Hickory Hill location way back when with a good girlfriend. I remember enjoying the cornbread.

Ive ordered several times since when in a crunch and it's always hit or miss. The taste of the food can vary I suppose based on the cook.

I use to joke that Southern Hands is for people who weren't raised with a big mama that could cook.

I wonder if their success is rooted in good food or the convenience of how they do business.

Well, today I didn't feel like driving to Miss Peggys and her prices have gone up, but wanted my staple veggie plate of greens, yams, Mac, and dressing with a cornbread.

Dressing- definitely needs to go back to the drawing board.

Greens- taste is just off. I couldn't put my finger on it, but they were tender.

Yams were solid.

Mac was on point.

Cornbread wasn't bad, but not as tasty as I remember.

Southern Hands is still just not my go to, but I love the drive and their systems around the customer experience.

If you know real good food, I just don't know.

The girl taking orders is awesome she said she was new. The food was terrible, taste just like high blood pressure. Idk if that’s all the time but that was my first and last time going .

I don’t know if it was what I ordered. I had fried fish, mashed potatoes and gravy with corn. Very simple meal and it was BLAND ! No seasoning! None! Only thing that had flavor was the corn. I was dining in with a friend and was charged gratuity! What a joke! I thought it was for large parties. My friend and I were not even talking loud and people were all in our mouths the next table over. I will not be back.

The food was terrible. On top of that I was waiting for hours. The food was room temperature. The plate was flooded out with so much watery gravy that it leaked into the bottom of the bag. I've never seen thick caked together black eyed peas until this plate. I nibbled a small taste of everything it was all disgusting and taste like it was all seasoned with only pepper.

Came in to do a bulk /catering order waited over an hour to be told to email the manage . I'd attempted to call but couldn't get anyone to answer. In spite of this, I did place the order for pick up 3 days later. We were told one item was not available at all, and the food we did get was overly seasoned and very spicy.

I usually nerve have any issues with my food from this location. I’m not sure if there is someone new in the kitchen or if the recipes have been switched, but i was extremely dissatisfied. My bf ordered the pork chop plate for himself and I received the chop steak. Both of our meats tasted as if salt was poured all over it.

It's a little warm in here but food was delicious!! Country Fried Steak, corn, black eyed peas, chicken tenders that are fork tender, and the cornbread was awesome.

We drove 23 mins to eat some southern food. We get there at 3pm the place is almost empty. Three tables of folks sitting & eating what looked like good food. Unfortunately, we didn't try it. They only gave us the option for takeout. They didn't close for another 3hrs, and WE only got the option for takeout. We explained we were at a hotel 20mins away, and still, we only got the option for Take Out. Kinda not cool......
I'm definitely not wasting my time going to this restaurant again.

Ordered a vegetable plate on Monday; It looked like leftover from Sunday. Didn’t accept my order. The guy informed me they had different cooks for that day. He said the regular cooks were out of town and they would be back Tuesday. He did not offer a refund but ask if I could come back the next day for a replacement. I agree because I would order from them twice or couple times out of the month. I came in the next day and no information was left about my reorder. They finally got it corrected after waiting on my lunch break. Mind you, I didn’t eat anything on my lunch the day before. Received my reorder and the fried tomatoes tasted spoiled. I asked for a refund and they gave half of my money back. This is ridiculous. Ask to speak to the person in charge (owner). She refused to speak with me. The lack of responsibility , disrespect and not refunding all my money is enough for me. I will not be patronizing this business anymore.
