Highland Super Submarine Sandwich Shop

We got the ham special/combo footlong sandwich on Monday with chips and a drink. Bread was super soft and slightly sweet I loved the sandwich, super flavorful and fresh ingredients!

A Memphis staple. My chicken breast sub ALWAYS tastes absolutely superb. Nostalgic. Been eating these subs for more than 20 years - and they continue to be consistently DELICIOUS!

I've been hearing great reviews about the sandwiches and it was delicious. The roll was soft n fluffy. Deli meats were yummy but i liked the toppings with the oil n vinegar drizzle.
Also had an egg roll but I ate it before I could snap a pic. Lightly fried, crispy and filling.

Best sandwich in the city.

Love LOVE LOVE this place soo much. Every time there has ever been a rumor about them potentially closing their doors permanently has literally made my heart break a little bit at the thought. Thankfully the rumors were replaced with the news that they would relocate from Highland where that McDonald's is in the middle or perhaps it's closer to the end of the highland strip but nevertheless they moved over to Summer Ave not too terribly far from the original location and with the same name and the familiar face of logo on the original location's storefront. Imo the best sub sandwich place in the city over all the chains and every place I've ever eaten a good sub sandwich!! I get random cravings for the taste of the bread and idk if it's an oil or seasoning that they use but I crave it very intensely when I got too long without stopping by for my absolute fave. The super sub and ALWAYS a 12 inch. I think I finished a whole one in one sitting one time, but never have held on to a piece until the next day. I always end up finishing the sandwich later the same day. I'm starting to crave one rn actually😏

Best subs in town. Mostly to-go services.

I dont know why it took me so long to leave a review on these place but as a chef i can promise these place is 5stars food is made fresh and hot when you order im being going here for almost 10yrs and im on my way up there now

When I want a submarine sandwich, I go to [insert your favorite sub shop here], but when I want a super submarine sandwich, the Highland Super Submarine Shop is the place to go! Their bread (iykyk) with that chicken and your favorite toppings. (Insert knee slap) Hawt dawg, there is nothing like it in the world. Just the thought has me reminiscing walking from the U of M to Highland (where it was originally located) to now driving to the establishment on Summer where every bite brings back nostalgia.

The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars was the limited potato chip selection and the lack of urgency to re-stock.

Me, my family, and friends have eaten at The Super Sub Shop for decades. The bread is unbelievably delicious, it tastes homemade. The sandwiches are all so good. Take cash though. They only accept cash and there is no ATM. It is worth it though!
