Tastin' Round Town Food Tours

We took a Tastin' Round Town food tour in Memphis with Taylor as our guide, and it’s honestly an experience I think back on all the time, even now, a year later! My friend and I are both well-versed in food, and this tour exceeded our expectations in every way.

It was just the three of us on a hot day, but we shared so much laughter, learned a ton, and ate a lot (come hungry!). The tour is long in the best possible way—you truly get your money’s worth—and the memories were truly priceless for us.

Taylor is phenomenal: knowledgeable, kind, funny, and made us feel like we were exploring the city with a good friend who just happens to know all the best bites and stories in Memphis.

If you’re on the fence, just book it. You will not regret it. Taylor, thank you so, so much for one of our favorite travel memories ever! We will take this tour again next time!

There were 4 of us, myself and 3 boys who like to eat and recently have an affinity for BBQ. We met Harper at the designated place and he pulled food out of a bag to start us off. From there we enjoyed ribs and sides, pulled pork nachos, and other local foods with a Memphis twist. It was crazy hot for the walk, but he stopped in the shade often and gave us a very descriptive history of the town and the places we were visiting. We enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the city's story, past and present. The best way to learn Memphis is through it's food and music....Thank you for a great time.

Highly recommend the Tastin Round Town BBQ Tour! The food was great and Harper was a great guide. Learned some interesting Memphis history and facts about ribs! Try to schedule this on your first day so you take can try the different recommendations Harper gives.

We’ve done 3 tours with them now and each one has been great. Taylor and Harper are both great guides and the food is amazing on each tour. You get a history lesson and a full stomach. Love these tours, we look forward to doing more of them.

Absolutely a must do in Memphis!! My wife and I did it as a fun anniversary activity. The food phenomenal and the history eye-opening. Our guide was highly knowlegeable and friendly. Can't wait to do it again with family our next visit to Memphis.

Taylor didn’t just take us to restaurants—she brought Memphis to life with fascinating stories about the city's history and even the streets we walked on. We explored Beale Street, sampling deep-fried burgers, gumbo, smoked wings, ribs, and (our personal favorite) fudge from Bealesweets—all made by passionate local restaurateurs. Taylor knows each one personally and isn’t afraid to hop behind the bar or kitchen line to help serve, which really says a lot about her commitment and connections.

We also had the chance to meet several of the restaurant owners, each proudly sharing their history and stories with us. It made the experience feel more personal and meaningful. We took our yearly sister trip to Memphis and enjoyed a great food tour with our guide Harper. He took us to some great places to eat and gave us alot of good info regarding Memphis. We will be back for some of the restaurants that he recommended that we did not have a chance to visit.

My friends and I had a great time on this tour. It was a rainy day so we were worried about the experience but it was fun anyway. We had a good group and the guide was really funny. A couple suggestions is the food didn’t line up perfectly with the tour description on the site, and my friend had to clarify 3x she was allergic to shrimp before they realized she couldn’t have the seafood gumbo.

We had an amazing experience on the BBQ Tasting Tour! Not only did we get to savor a wide variety of mouthwatering barbecue dishes, but we also got a fantastic overview of the city. Our guide Harper was phenomenal—super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of BBQ and the best local spots. The tour took us through the heart of downtown and we got to see some sights while enjoying the food. If you’re visiting, I’d definitely recommend doing this tour at the start of your trip. It’s the perfect way to discover hidden gems and get the lowdown on what to eat while you're in town. This tour was definitely our favorite part about our trip to Memphis!

Take the tour at the very beginning of your trip and you will learn about all the places to go and food to eat while you are in Memphis! Highly recommend!
