Bought two drinks, received an $80 bill with a $50 tip added without permission. Total of drinks were $24. Told the bar tender to remove tip, watched as he changed tip to $5. My card was still charged $80. Bar tender was inappropriate to me and my friends, tried to grab my friends breast. Called 3X to refute the charge and the bar will not call me back. Horrible place, horrible service, and completely exploitive.

Kendall (sp?) The bartender of the night made it worth the climb up the stairs to come in and hang for a bit on a slow Tuesday night. Take a few to say hey to Kendall it will be worth your time.

Kendall was amazing. He made the climb up those steep stairs worth every step! It was a quiet night, so he was able to give us undivided attention. We stayed for his company and interesting conversation. One friend had the Absinthe drink, the rest of us had a variety of other drinks. Looking forward to visiting Kendall again!

Yes, yes & yes, a great hideaway on the world famous Beale Street. Be prepared to entertain yourselves, but this is the perfect space for it. Live life comrades, LIVE LIFE. ☺️

I love that they have Golden Tee, but $8+ for a bottle of Bud is outrageous. I wanted to make this a permanent hangout, but the prices for drinks makes that financially irresponsible.

Lowkey place to play pool and have drinks. Stays open late.

My friends Ro, Stella, and I had an absolute blast at the Absinthe Room. Good food, service and music. Just a heads-up though, those stairs are no joke!

This is a tough review for me. When you read other reviews about how tore up the furniture is, and how it's kind of gross, I absolutely have to agree. However, I like that sort of place. If you're used to the finer things in life, maybe go elsewhere. The bartender working the day I went was friendly and great at conversation, but didn't have a lot of knowledge about absinthe. Also, they don't have the pricing for the brands of absinthe readily available so you may end up backing out once you find out. So, in the end, you really need to be of a particular mindset to enjoy this place. If you enjoy hanging out at your stoner friends' place with the "rescued" furniture, this is the place for you. I also should add that the bathrooms are, unexpectedly, fairly decent, and be careful walking down the stairs. They're pretty steep.

She poured my absinthe through her filthy fingernails into my glass. I've never seen anything so disgusting. Then poured it from the glass into a plastic cup and served it to me. A very low class disappointing experience.

The bartender was amazing and answered all of our questions. I was the only one who ended up liking the licorice flavored drink, but I was so glad to mark it off my bucket list!

Good 2nd story view of Beale St. Lots of pool tables, shuffle board table. Beer is kinda pricy.

Great spot to visit on beale! The bartenders take good care of you! This is the only place in Memphis where you can get this drink!
