I've done a lot of reviews and if I could put this one at the very top I certainly would!! We had the most delicious meal! Everything was perfectly cooked and SO DAMN Delicious!! The pork shoulder was the best I've ever had hands down!! The BBQ spaghetti was out of this world!! The atmosphere was just perfect for our romantic dinner!

I did some searching to find some of the best barbecue in Memphis and the Bar-B-Q Shop popped up so I decided to give it a shot - and I'm so glad I did. Its a local gem with deep roots in Memphis and well-earned reputation for some the best barbecue in town.
The space offers a charming, old fashion vibe that feels warm and welcoming. From the moment I walked in I felt right at home, especially when the owner greeted me with a friendly smile that I greatly appreciated.
I ordered a barbecue sandwich with friends and baked beans. The food was satisfying, flavorful and filling. While it didn't absolutely blow me away, it was still incredibly tasty and definitely worth another visit to explore more of the menu or for another sandwich and fries.
Overall, The Bar-B-Q Shop delivers great food, excellent service, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in Memphis!
We got the ribs for two… absolutely amazing. I’m not a big rib person, but WOW! My fiancé had dry last time, but we tried them glazed today. So good! Was so happy I decided to try them. Great service! We are Memphians, so we will absolutely be back.

From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for our meal. The decor is charming, filled with rustic touches that make you feel right at home. We were greeted with friendly smiles, which only added to our excitement.
Now, let’s talk about the food! The menu is packed with mouthwatering options, and while the prices were a bit on the higher side, the flavors were truly unforgettable. We indulged in some classic BBQ staples, and each bite was bursting with smoky goodness. The ribs were tender and fell right off the bone, while the pulled pork had just the right amount of seasoning.
However, we did notice that the portions were a bit on the medium to low side, which left us wishing for just a little more. But even with this small caveat, the overall experience was fantastic! The quality of the food, combined with the cozy ambiance and attentive service, made it all worthwhile.

Possibly the best ribs on the planet. Fresh, fall off the bone; every time. I've eaten here probably 15 times and have had the same consistent experience each stop. Highly recommend the Rib Plate half dry half wet for your first time, and the fried bologna appetizer to kick it off
Started coming here with my parents over 30 years ago. Was always a special treat! The quality has stayed consistent all these years. Best BBQ sauce ever.
Their brisket is good. The famous spaghetti is good but I believe better suited in a side portion than an entree (too saucy for a large quantity but good flavor). The coleslaw was the best I've ever had.

If you don't value your customers, then they don't value you! Just stopped by and was seated at the bar as I requested. I was the only one at the bar. 4 or 5 minutes later, the same lady that sat me there came back and asked me what I wanted to drink. I told her water. I informed her I was ready to order and she stated my server, that she pointed to would be with me shortly. There were several employees back and forth all around me, including my server. I waited at least another 8-10 minutes and still not one person asked me what I wanted, including the server she pointed out to me. I then observed my server walk directly past me in front of me to a set of glasses and began tapping on them as if they were drums! At that point I left. I will not spend my money where I'm not valued!

The staff are incredibly nice and fast-paced, the sides were exceptionally well made, and the main dish was so good, I hadn't even noticed my sweet tea get magically refilled as I enjoyed my meal.
I was absolutely blown away by the coleslaw. The best slaw I have ever had! Seriously. The potato salad and the pulled pork were also top notch. I'm from California, but I travel the south for work, and the sweet tea at this spot rivals some of the best of the best sweet teas I have had during my work travels.
If you're only in town for a night, this stop is an absolute must!
