Everything was wonderful!! Our waitress was wonderful also. We will definitely be back. Only 4 of 5 of us was able to make it but we all had the fried green tomatoes which were delicious with the sauce!

The photo advertisement on Open Table is NOT accurate! I planned a special Father's Day dinner for party of 8 expecting to be able to order the food, drinks, & desserts being advertised only to get there and find out the menu was changed over a year ago and has never been updated online. To require a credit card with requiring acknowledgment for any person in the party not showing up would cost $20 each to only be able to order a catfish or shrimp plate was disappointing! We were looking forward to steak, deviled eggs, etc. The only reason I didn't grade 1 star in all categories is because of our waitress. She was polite, kind, and extremely apologetic. It is not her fault the website and often table has not been updated. The atmosphere was not what we expected since what we were expecting was what the photos showed; however, it wasn't bad. I'm sure it is a great place to have lunch or dinner with your family & friends. This restaurant needs to update their pictures, info, and menu so other families know what to expect.

As always, Gillian gave us excellent service, the food was very good - BUT the menu changes are NOT GOOD at all!!! Why did most of your vegetable choices leave - no mac and cheese ?? no collards??? I didn't ask about the smoked tomato jam, was afraid to...and apparently, mashed potatoes are the only daily veg left, except for the special? What am i missing here?

The chicken was a bit undercooked, bloody at the bone. They happily took it back and did a fresh one, unfortunately that takes quite a while. Catfish was very good. Enjoyed my Cocktails. Mostly empty at 6 pm on Saturday night. Service was good. Granddaughter loved her brownie dessert. Not sure I would go back tbh, 160 dollars with tip for 4 I want something more.

Beware, this place has changed hands and is no longer The Farmer you may remember. My friends and I ate there around a year ago and I couldn't wait to go back it was so good! Well, we waited too late! Today we tried it, and we were so disappointed. Like another reviewer stated, it's just another eatery, with mediocre food. We walked in at 12:30pm for lunch and had the pick of the place to sit. Service was good as there was barely anyone else in there. The food was disappointing. I tried the fried green tomatoes, they were ok, and the fried fish and shrimp combo. Nothing special about it, just food no flavor. My friends said the hamburger was eh, and the Ceasar salad was eh. Wasted money there.

Sadly, we did not stay for dinner. When we were seated & presented the menu, it was completely different. We have been eating at the Farmer for many years, even prior to its opening at the Railgarden. The classic dishes, have been removed, most notably were the braised greens, sweet potato hash, and many other of Mac's signature dishes. The Railgarens has systematically taken away the appetizers, soups & entrees we have enjoyed over the years. Sadly, another era has come to an end in Memphis most enjoyable culinary delights of Mac Edwards. ☹️ Sadly We will not be returning.

This was once a unique Memphis treat. Southern fare with a flare. You'd start with the day's variety of deviled eggs, enjoy authentic Mid-South cuisine and finish with something like a unique take on bread pudding. Gone. New management. No imagination. Just another eatery. I will miss Farmer.

The food was great, and the atmosphere was on point.

Loved going to The Farmer but now not so much since they changed their menu 3 weeks ago. No more shrimp and grits, Mac n cheese. The food is good and better than the average restaurants. Please just change the menu back

The Farmer was always been a long time favorite restaurants so I went to celebrate my birthday and was very disappointed that they changed their menu. They no longer offer deviled eggs, greens, mac and cheese, sloppy Joe and patty melt. The server explained they're changing to more of a bar menu which is not the food we prefer to eat. We almost left but decided to stay and eat but the food really wasn't worth it. We ordered Fried catfish platter and the veggie plate. Very disappointed in our dinner! We live in the neighborhood but won't be back unless they bring back some of the classics they were known for.
