Update from 10/30/24 : I went back to this location and took my wife.... The service was outstanding... They still didn't mention the added 20% gratuity, but the server did have it highlighted in 2 places on the check to ensure that I saw that the gratuity had been added... I tipped extra because the server , food and service was simply amazing.
This was my first time patronizing with this place. It appears to be a nice place to eat, but I won't be going back! Had lunch there today with a friend and there were just a few other guests there - so it wasnt crowded. They added a 20% gratuity to the check on top of the nearly 20% tip I left. Not a good practice for small parties and it's unethical if you don't let the guests know in advance that the gratuity will be added or has been added.

I went with a couple of friends last week to enjoy some breakfast and the food was delicious. The staff were very attentive and the place was very well decorated! The coffees are a must try if one is to dine here.

I had the Filipino breakfast plate. The rice was undercooked which is a real shame for a restaurant and it lacked any salt or garlic flavor as it was supposed to be garlic rice. The tocino tasted great and was the highlight. The 2 eggs i ordered had zero salt or seasoning on them and were overcooked to what I requested (over easy was ordered but they were more like over medium). Our server was pretty curt and sarcastic which is fine to me, but those with higher standards might be bothered.
The sopapillas seemed to be deep fried biscuit dough and weren't served with honey or cinnamon as would be typical. I would definitely not recommend unless you've never heard of sopapillas before and have no expectations.

Not comparable to the original location on Broad, unfortunately. I ordered online - a Classic Plate w/tocino & scrambled cheese eggs, w/a biscuit, and a portion of Cuban pork on the side; order was ready when I arrived. Everybody was real nice, so no points off for service. However, the Liquor Store staples really suffered here.
Cardinal sin: the biscuit was reheated improperly & allowed to cool, and thus, tasted akin to a semolina hockey puck. ? If you've ever had a Liquor Store biscuit, you know how remarkably fluffy & near-perfect they are; it's THEIR biscuits I want whenever I crave biscuits. This is stiff & barely even warm; nigh inedible, tbh.
The Cuban pork also barely has any of the trademark flavour you're accustomed to from this junt, and was also reheated improperly & was clumpy & chewy. Typical LS Cuban pork is super soft (but still reasonably textured), and the flavour is absolutely soaked through! There is a SMIDGE of flavour resting at the bottom of the container, but the rest tastes like it could've been made by literally anybody.
The eggs are also below standard & have a grainy texture. I almost wanna give credence to the cheese I ordered on 'em (tastes like a hard, sharp cheddar), but in all of my years frequenting this establishment & ordering my eggs w/cheese, they've never been like this. They honestly taste old, seeing as they became inedible after being in open air for less than 20 minutes; I can't finish them.
This is not to say that my meal is 100% terrible: the hash browns are bang-on & super fresh, the tocino also tastes fresh & had a great flavour and good char; that isn't enough to save this experience, though. It's unfortunate, because this location is much closer to my house than the original, but I'll just keep riding out to The Hamp until/unless this one gets it together. Sorry, y'all. ?

It was our first time eating here. I had the breakfast bowl with pork sausage and a white chocolate latte. The bowl was very good. I would have liked a little more of the poblano crema and sauteed peppers. The latte was wonderful. It wasn't too sweet but had good flavor. My husband had the Ube sweet potato pancakes with berry sauce. It came with 2 eggs and a protein of choice. He had turkey sausage. His drink was a chai tea latte. All of the food was very good. I would almost say exceptional. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
