$18 for a burger that was bland and basic. Even Red Robin's basic cheese burger isn't basic. Idk if it's a certain time of day you have to come or maybe a different cook but the hype about this place did not meet my expectations. Just because you're on Beale St. doesn't mean you get to be overpriced and the food quality and taste doesn't match. I may give this place a second chance in the daytime but I'm not interested in wasting money so probably not.

The prices at The Pig on Beale are unreasonably high for what you actually get. The portions are smaller than expected for a barbecue restaurant, and the food quality doesn’t justify the cost. It feels like you’re paying more for the location on Beale Street rather than the food itself. Many customers mention that you can find better-tasting barbecue for half the price elsewhere in Memphis.
The food often comes out dry, overcooked, or lacking flavor, which is disappointing given Memphis’ reputation for great BBQ. The ribs and pulled pork are sometimes cold or chewy, and the sides—like baked beans or mac and cheese—tend to taste store-bought rather than homemade. Overall, the food doesn’t live up to Memphis barbecue standards, which makes the price sting even more.
The atmosphere feels unwelcoming and chaotic. Music is often too loud to hold a conversation, the tables can be sticky, and the restaurant doesn’t have the warm, Southern vibe you’d expect from a place on Beale Street. Instead of that lively Memphis hospitality, the place can come off as touristy and rushed, as if they just want to get people in and out.
This is one of the biggest red flags. Reports of servers adding their own tip without asking the customer (or adjusting the amount higher than what was written) show a lack of professionalism and integrity. It’s not just unethical—it’s theft. That alone can completely ruin the dining experience and make customers feel cheated.
A sign before you come in says live music but there was no live music at all and was very quiet.
Will not be coming back again.

5 star last year, doesn't even deserve a 1 star this year. Meat was dried out/over cooked. We should have gone somewhere else for a burger. Disappointing $80

They don’t need one star. They need 0. Came here for a Bach trip with 4 of us. Sat for almost a hour. Only to get drinks. No refills. They gave us silverware like 45 minutes into it. Should have known when nobody else was in the restaurant. Another group of 4 came in we warned them and they left. They wanted 25$ for 4 sodas

Would give 0 stars if I could. My group of 4 sat for an hour to just get pops. Then tried to charge $22 for said pops. Horrible service, warned others as they came in

The server was very nice, but the ribs were not good, the chicken portion we thought was a joke and everything is overpriced. Not the Memphis BBQ experience we were hoping for.

Im from Indianapolis Indiana. I came for the pulled pork. Left full, with a couple of bottles of sauce for my dad and a apron for my grill.

Google says the restaurant opens at 11:00 am. The chef came in apologized and said the server stepped out and “hopefully” she would be back in 10 minutes. When she finally did come back, I asked on the hours and she just said, “oh now we won’t open until 11:30,” in an unapologetic manner. I walked out.
