Was gifted these ribs for Christmas. They arrived poorly vacuum sealed. Prepared them as per directions. Meat was tough and not worth chewing. Very disappointing especially when our in person experience was delicious. When contacted about 3 bad experiences with their ribs, (3 gifted rib packages) gifters were never contacted by the company. We will not order online for delivery and will be sure to tell others. 0/10 experience and taste.
Flavor and tenderness. Everytime.
Everything was so satisfying.,.. can't wait to return.....

Worst ribs I’ve ever had - so dry it was borderline inedible. We ended up feeding the rest to our dog and I had to use my teeth to rip the meat off because it was very difficult to peel it with my hands You can clearly tell in the picture how dry it is. Opposite of fall off the bone. It impossible to get the meat off the bone. Only reason why I’m giving it two star is because the pork shoulder sandwich was pretty good. I’m not going to comment on atmosphere and service because I think that’s the style (it’s in a basement, waiter just takes your order and gives you your food, doesn’t really come to check up). Mind blowing this place is known for ribs

Review: Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous in Memphis
Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous is nothing short of a barbecue legend nestled in the heart of Memphis. From the moment you step into the historic alleyway leading to the restaurant, you're greeted by the tantalizing aroma of slow-cooked ribs and charcoal-grilled meats—a prelude to the feast ahead.
The atmosphere is a quintessential blend of Southern charm and lively energy. The dining room buzzes with a mix of locals and visitors, all drawn together by their shared appreciation for Memphis-style BBQ. The walls are adorned with memorabilia that tells the story of a city steeped in culture, blues, and, of course, barbecue tradition.
But the star of the show? The ribs. Dry-rubbed and cooked to perfection, they strike a flawless balance of smoky, spicy, and savory flavors that practically melt in your mouth. Pair them with the tangy slaw and baked beans, and you’ve got a meal that epitomizes Memphis on a plate.
The service is friendly, efficient, and just as down-to-earth as you'd expect from a place that feels like an institution rather than a restaurant. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular, the staff ensures you leave happy and full.
If you’re looking for an authentic barbecue experience in Memphis with an atmosphere that’s as unforgettable as the food, Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous is a must-visit. It’s more than a meal—it’s a rite of passage for any barbecue enthusiast.

I’ve had bbq all over the world and I always remember that when I’m sitting in the back corner of this restaurant, it’s by far the best ribs I’ve ever had. Our waiter, skinny, is a hustler, you can tell how much he cares about this place. I truly think places that have employees like skinny are the ones that prosper and work their way into the “elite” category. I will eat those ribs every time I touch foot in Memphis.

This is a good introduction to Memphis BBQ. If you are staying downtown, you have to visit. It has a very cool vibe. I had the brisket (awesome) and the sausage and cheese platter. I got the meat sweats for sure.

My wife (R.I.P.) and I enjoyed a night out at Rendezvous 20+ years ago. Indeed, the alley entrance was interesting, but once you get past the doors, the expanse of the restaurant shows itself. We loved the ribs and the sauce. In fact, we bought some to bring back home to San Antonio. A few years later, my wife purchased some and had it shipped to us. Needless to say, our visit to Rendezvous was a wonderful memory for us through our years together.

The sides were well-flavored, and the rub on the ribs was tasty. However, the ribs themselves were dry and not enjoyable. The restaurant’s aesthetics were cool, but the food quality left me disappointed.
Inhaled the chicken. Great sides. Hot BBQ sauce is excellent.
