Lovely place in a gorgeous setting. Table service seems high end until a server arrives and broadcasts in a loud voice what they’ve got with no interest in us. No inquiry as to whether we want a drink. Feels like a cafeteria. I wandered around to look at it and found a great cozy space with friendly people in the back. Almost redeemed it.but the plastic tablecloth and the unlit oil lamp and store bought salt and pepper grinders did not radiate fine dining to me. We definitely had a waitress, not a server. Food has lovely ingredients but the sum is not better than the parts.

I always visit here whenever I'm in the area. It's always an amazing experience! Great food and great cocktails! I took a group of 20 and we were all well taken care of. Highly recommend!

My fiancé, our best friends, and I visited Hightop Restaurant last evening, and it was outstanding, as always. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were just ok at best, but everything after that was excellent. I ordered the ribeye with baked potato and lobster bisque, which was incredible. My fiancé had the filet with asparagus and a Caesar salad; every bite was spot on. The drinks were fantastic, the lemon drop and Old Fashioned (Buffalo Trace is always a win) were perfect. And the best part of the night? The grilled pound cake. Honestly, one of the best desserts we’ve ever had, it’s that good.
Our server was magnificent, offering the right balance of attentiveness and professionalism. We live in Huntsville, so the little over an hour’s drive is always worth it, and Hightop never disappoints.
The only downside was a private party with several out-of-control children who became very loud, making it difficult for our table to carry on a conversation. While that was out of the restaurant’s control, it did impact the atmosphere.
All in all, the food, drinks, and service were stellar. Hightop continues to be one of our favorite destinations, and we’ll definitely be back.

The filet was amazing! We enjoyed everything we ate. The service was amazing. Also found out after we went that my aunt is Irene’s great great niece! That’s pretty cool!

This is a very unique place and the food was amazing.
We had a variety of food ranging from Steak, Salmon to the Shrimp Alfredo.
The food was tasty and wished I’d have had room for dessert but just wasn’t able to.

We visited High Point recently to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We had a dinner reservation. Upon arriving, they seated us promptly. The old restaurant is large with many dining rooms. 2 floors of dining rooms. It’s a pretty campus with lots of trees & outdoor lighting. There’s a large lit garden area with patio seating-enough for groups even. Our service was impeccable. Excellent! There are lots of original menus choices. We each enjoyed salads, Halibut, with a side. We shared Crème Brûlée 🍮 for dessert. Our dinner was delicious. It was a wonderful evening. Excellent experience all the way around!! We look forward to going again.

Beautiful circa mansion with mobster history
My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a stay in the Monteagle Inn and dinner at High Point. Our server, Darla, was wonderful and so helpful. We began with an appetizer of the Pork Belly over a marinated slaw. For our first course I had the Fall Harvest salad and my wife had the Lobster Bisque. For our entree she had the Orange Glazed Salmon with baked potato and I had the Steak Diane with Asparagus drizzled with hollandaise sauce. My steak was the best I have ever had (medium-rare). We had no room for a dessert but did finish with a dessert drink (Toasted Almond Amaretto) which we split. We will be back to try other dishes. The evening was great and we were glad we chose High Point for dining and reflecting on our 25 years together. Thanks High Point for a memorable dining experience.

EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE. What a delight to know that I'm having dinner in the exact house where Al Capones girlfriend lived and where he hid from the law! The house still has the original light fixtures and flooring. It's a great place for a fantastic meal.

Food was very good. Server, Terrie, was very nice and accommodating. Although busy. We didn't see much of the establishment overall but what we saw was as expected. It was loud but not much they can do about that.
