We’ve been multiple times and typically have a great experience. We went this past weekend. Service was a little slower than normal but it’s holiday season. The younger waitress went to help with larger party so the older waitress covered our table for her. Everything was fine until I checked my credit card statement this morning and they tacked on over $57 to our total bill that included tip. They are currently closed so I haven’t heard back from them. Will keep you posted but beware. Update- restaurant fixed issue. I would go back but just paying with cash from now

Dined there last night. The food was amazing, as always! Had the New Orleans shrimp appetizer, Salmon Imperial and Grilled Poundcake with butter pecan ice cream! It was INCREDIBLE! Great service and relaxed atmosphere. I only wish there was music. I felt like everyone around us could hear our conversation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had dinner last night. This was our second time at High Point. Excellent food and service once again. The grilled Atlantic salmon and the blackberry salad were outstanding. Our server was attentive and made sure we had what we needed. We will be back.

The food is outstanding. My husband and I retired from Atlanta GA more than two decades ago. This is the closest we have come to "fine dining" since that time. We live in Northeast TN and have friends in Eastern TN. We will visit them and return to High Point. It's a restaurant not to be missed. Caroline A.

This was not our first time at HP. Like others have mentioned, it is an extraordinary experience normally. What I fear, is if they continue the downward trend in service, you will lose extraordinary. It is not cheap. It was my birthday dinner. We watched as tables outdoors and indoors were seated, served and left. We were there almost three hours. We were told it was a new cook, who plates and grills. For the price, you can’t get more help? And how does that explanation fly, if other tables were served promptly. So instead of enjoying an extraordinary Highpoint experience, you sit there getting upset. Unfortunately, others around us said the same thing and how service has taken a hit.

We were here for my birthday dinner. Ordered dinner, mine included the Fall Harvest Salad. The leaves in this salad are very large and awkward to stuff into your mouth, so I cut it up a few times and rolled the salad around to spread the dressing. A spider the size of a dime crawled out of my food. While you may think me dramatic, I have a nasty phobia of spiders and ended up having a panic attack. My father took the plate to the front while my husband tried to console me. The woman (hostess I believe) my dad spoke to said, “well we wash the produce three times.” My dad responded, “well wash it four.” The woman responded, “don’t speak to me like that.” Quite honestly, had I been in a better mental state, we should have left. It took far too long for restaurant staff to come to our table, and their response to the incident was less than expected. The chef came to explain to me how bugs sometimes get into food. Not to immediately apologize. I stopped him mid sentence and told him that I am a 30 year old woman and that I don’t need to be explained to how produce works. He then said that he doesn’t “like spiders either.” Neither the chef or the hostess he brought with him seemed very apologetic and they did not tell me that my meal was comped. I had to check with the waitress about that. The rest of the food that came was mediocre at best. I am most disappointed by the restaurant’s response to this incident and their clear concern for how WE were reacting, rather than trying to make it right. Things happen, but when they do, an apology and how a situation is handled can go a long way. For a place that considers themselves fine dining, they clearly don’t have a plan or staff training to handle something like this.

I am not sure if it was reflective of the recent death of the owner but the blacked salmon and potatoes were completely cold and inedible. It was not eaten but they only comped 1/2 of the price after we were told it would be removed from the bill. The 2 filets were overcooked. However, my duck breast was perfect and absolutely delicious. Since our hosts have been here many times and had wonderful experiences, I would definitely give the restaurant another chance. I send condolences to all family - including the staff. My prayers are with you.
