Celebrated my 50th birthday at High Point. Food was amazing steak so tender you could cut it with a fork awesome atmosphere and vibe will definitely be back. I had the ribeye absolutely amazing. Had the BLT salad. It was almost a meal in itself.

I had read about Highpoint in a magazine. I like the concept. It was fine dining with a dress up atmosphere in an old mansion.

I made reservations months ago. That was an easy process, but you have to call. There are no confirmations from the first phone call until you show up for your meal. please make sure you note the time and date of your reservation. We had so it was no problem just making a note.

It was a cold rainy night when we showed up. I was dressed in a fine dress and my husband in a suit. we were definitely overdressed. Per the newspaper or magazine article. It indicated that that was the preferred dress. Per their website, it indicated they preferred dressy attire. Most of the gentlemen were in jeans and cowboy boots. I think I was the only woman in dress.

The food was very good. The service was nice. Our server had a little bit of spunk to her, which was cute.

The house, which belonged to Al Capone’s mistress, was decorated very nice for the holidays. We had a cute table for two by the windows. It was a very romantic setting.

If you’re in the area or want an overnight escape, I would definitely eat here.

Don’t go here for the food. We eat out A LOT and travel all over the south. We we underwhelmed with everything. The rolls were hard and difficult to chew. The ribeye was a tad overdone, maybe because it was pretty thin? The baked potato and salad were okay. They let my picky husband order fried chicken tenders, which weren’t on the menu and we thought that was great. The tenders were juicy but didn’t have much flavor. I did think the drinks were pretty good. Overall we thought it was a cute little place to experience once but for the price the food should knock purple socks off. You are paying almost double here for the ambiance only in my opinion. There was a nice waitress that caught us dancing after we ate and took some pictures for us. We did not get the name of our waitress because she didn’t give it to us. We won’t be back because of the food and prices but glad we got to try it!

The food here was very good and you get alot. , But there are a few issues. First the prices online absolutely dont line up with the actual prices . Also while I know our watress was busy ,when I told her my baked potato was wrong she grabbed it in her hand and took it back to the kitchen which was kinda shocking. And lastly what kinda gourmet restaurant that charges $50 per.person is gonna charge you to use you credit/ debit card. we got out ticket and when we went to pay and got the receipt to sign it was almost $3 more. . Come on a cc use charge ,you all can do better . Also the parking lot if you wish to call it that was very dark, and we had to park in a dirt lot next. to it becaue we couldn't find parking there . I know it may sound like im nick picking but remember its up to $70 a person her , I expect more for that price

Great restaurant, very cool atmosphere and history surrounding the house.

Early dinner; opened with fried green tomatoes which were perfectly seasoned. My wife’s Lobster bisque was on point as well. I had a blackberry salad which I would highly recommend. My wife had a ribeye and I went with a local mushroom special which was incredible.

Loved our server Teri, she did a great job working a room that filled up quickly. She was genuine and not the Eddie Haskel type we normally get at nicer restaurants.

Anyhow, it’s a cool place and well worth touring after your meal; upstairs as well.

Lovely place in a gorgeous setting. Table service seems high end until a server arrives and broadcasts in a loud voice what they’ve got with no interest in us. No inquiry as to whether we want a drink. Feels like a cafeteria. I wandered around to look at it and found a great cozy space with friendly people in the back. Almost redeemed it.but the plastic tablecloth and the unlit oil lamp and store bought salt and pepper grinders did not radiate fine dining to me. We definitely had a waitress, not a server. Food has lovely ingredients but the sum is not better than the parts.

My fiancé, our best friends, and I visited Hightop Restaurant last evening, and it was outstanding, as always. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were just ok at best, but everything after that was excellent. I ordered the ribeye with baked potato and lobster bisque, which was incredible. My fiancé had the filet with asparagus and a Caesar salad; every bite was spot on. The drinks were fantastic, the lemon drop and Old Fashioned (Buffalo Trace is always a win) were perfect. And the best part of the night? The grilled pound cake. Honestly, one of the best desserts we’ve ever had, it’s that good.

Our server was magnificent, offering the right balance of attentiveness and professionalism. We live in Huntsville, so the little over an hour’s drive is always worth it, and Hightop never disappoints.
The only downside was a private party with several out-of-control children who became very loud, making it difficult for our table to carry on a conversation. While that was out of the restaurant’s control, it did impact the atmosphere.

All in all, the food, drinks, and service were stellar. Hightop continues to be one of our favorite destinations, and we’ll definitely be back.

This is a very unique place and the food was amazing.

We had a variety of food ranging from Steak, Salmon to the Shrimp Alfredo.

The food was tasty and wished I’d have had room for dessert but just wasn’t able to.
