A really neat place to have dinner and you definitely get your money's worth on the food. High quality steak cooked to perfection and big portions of sides (included in the price). Fall harvest salad with Brie and pears was great. I was a little disappointed that the underground tunnels and passageways had been closed off and blocked up according to the server. Beautiful location and we will be back!

The food was wonderful. Service was great but native to the area. Expect someone willing to please but not trained in manners or speech. It's more like you are in their home and want to do their best for you. The decor that made this restaurant famous is mostly lost to expansion, though still apparent on outside.

I was going to say very good for a small town, but changed my thoughts to very good for anywhere. Our waitress was another surprise, top notch.I have been here a few years ago and don't remember it being special, it is now.Due to the special occasions at the University nearby, book way in advance.

The best restaurant ever! Everybody was so nice, the room was comfortable and the songs were classic and nice to hang out to, and the food.. the food was SO GOOD. The steak was cooked appropriately and the duck was amazing. Never had anything like it. I got filled so fast and I don't even regret it. It's expensive for a reason. The waitress was incredibly kind and sweet. The restroom is so nice, and very clean. It was the most beautiful, calm, and nice restaurant ever.

This place was the nicest place I've ever been. The staff was friendly. I got a salad, a filet mignon, and an Idaho potato. The food was so good I was taken back. I also got rolls and oysters. The texture on it was extremely nice.

This place is probably the most beautiful place I've ever been. Several compliments to the chefs and our waitress was the sweetest person. First time being here, definitely not the last.

Really unique atmosphere, getting to enjoy dinner in so much history. The staff was really friendly and fun to talk to. The steak was cooked to perfection and was very tender and juicy, the lobster was grilled perfectly and was very sweet. And make sure to leave room for dessert because the bananas foster was to die for.

Upon entering restaurant noticed strong odor similar to an old nursing home. We were promptly seated and I had to go back to car to get wife's jacket because of cold air conditioner vent next to her chair. When air stopped, strong offensive odor returned. Basically ruined what was a nice atmosphere. Both of us ordered Highpoint Oscar rare to medium rare, Blackberry salad, stuffed potato and oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer. Oysters were very small over stuffed with spinach and smothered with cheese. Blackberry salad although large, had 3 blackberries which was okay but vinaigrette dressing was both watery, and lacking much flavor. Stuffed potato was good, but had what tasted like imitation bacon crumbs that you would get from a local grocery. again smothered in cheese. Steak was well done instead of rare. Still tender and only a little dried out. Not what was ordered. Steak was advertised with lobster topping instead of crab. Topping had minced up seafood of some kind and instead of a bearnaise sauce, was again smothered in cheese so that could not even taste it. Asparagus spears were large, raw and woody. Service was excellent, however was Very Disappointed with meal. Not waitress's fault. Have eaten at this restaurant several time in past and loved it. For an expensive restaurant, this time the food was not worth it.Highpoint was always a high class suit jacket and tie type of place. Had not been back since Covid hit and noted that there is no longer any (even if unspoken) dress code. Lot of blue jeans (including torn knees etc.) and T-shirt type of customers. Less than half of customers took the time to dress even semi casual.

No shirt, no shoes, no pants, no problem! My wife and her friends went here. They were on a women's retreat meanwhile a private frat party was going on and a young man was walking around the top floor of the restaurant in his boxer briefs. First he was allowed to walk around with his shirt off. The staff did not stop him. He then came back from the bathroom in just his underwear. The staff did not stop him. He then came back out of the private room in his underwear yet again. The staff did not stop him. My wife told him to get back in there and get his clothes on because no one wants to see that. Why did my wife have to do what no one working there would do?Apparently they are getting too much of someone's daddy's money and will put up with stuff like that that. Some of the women left before they got their food. They shouldn't have to stay in an environment so poorly monitored to get food that cost this much. Not the kind of stuff a husband wants to hear about happening at place his wife and daughter were at.

My wife and I visited here on a weekday evening. She made reservations- I would highly recommend making reservations. We were seated upstairs- very cramped. Our waitress only came by once after delivering our initial drinks- that was when she brought the ticket.

This is one of my favorite places to dine. I usually don't have dessert, but the grill pound cake was unique and delicious.
