Before the fire that destroyed Jim Oliver's, the food was FANTASTIC! Food was great no matter what you got. Now, it is TERRIBLE! On a visit there tonight, I ordered the burger, fries and coleslaw and my husband ordered the pulled pork. First, everything was served on paper plates. Second, the burger had zero flavor and tasted like it had laid under a heat lamp for a week. The coleslaw tasted soured and the fries also were 'warm' at best. My husband's pulled pork was full of fat. When asked if they had a spicy BBQ sauce, we were told they had 'Sweet Baby Rays'. It was terribly smokey in there too. We will not be back.

Let’s be honest the food is gross. I am not even sure how they cook things there but everything was cold when it came. It’s like they precook a bunch of stuff and keep it under a heater or something. The fried pickles were strange all separated from the batter. The bacon in the blt was big chunks of crumbled overcooked bacon. The furniture is filthy and they have covers can that be thrown in a washer every once in a while but they clearly don’t.
I did love the music atmosphere. They are missing out on making this a really cool place if someone just invested in better kitchen and did some renovations. They could be sitting on a gold mine.

A quintessential, authentic Tennessee experience. The food was decent with great prices, but the service & atmosphere were incredible. We had great live music in a cosy cold winter night. Being from the UK, we loved it even more!

This place was my favorite, we live an hour away and it used to be worth the drive. But I don't think we will be back. It's more of a dive bar than a smoke house now. Atmosphere was okay, although I greatly question the decoration style. Service was fantastic, waitress was amazing and checked on us regularly. Food was the biggest disappointment. Classic bar food. I expected at least a few items from the old menu but saw BLTs, Hamburgers and chicken fingers. I was expecting the southern comfort food I had come to enjoy. If you are looking for a good bar with live music, this is it. But if you are wanted the original smoke house you will be extremely disappointed.

We took a mini vacation and ended up finding this place on our way home ! What a neat little place to eat at . Onion rings were really good.. everyone at our table tried different things .. chicken tenders , pulled pork sandwich, salad , bacon cheeseburger. Service was very fast , our waitress was super nice and waited on us every 10 mims to make sure we had everything we needed. There was a band playing during our meal as well! Hope to stop again in our travels sometime down the road

I was devastated after the fire. We were just getting to know each other good, (Jim and his wife). I always stop at Jim's on the way back from Atlanta and sometimes on the way to and from Atlanta. I always buy a few bottles of his award-winning sauces, and items from his awesome log cabin store. I'm on the way back soon Jim!!

This is a unique BBQ restaurant. We stopped for lunch on a Sunday around 12:30 and were surprised to see live music. The decor was also interesting. My wife and I each ordered the pork platter, and we had enough food on each plate to share. We ordered separate sides and shared them. The cucumber salad was very good, and the fried okra was to die for. There’s seating inside and outside, and it would be nice to hang out all afternoon drinking brews, but we had to get down the road. I highly recommend Jim Oliver’s Smoke House.

Had not been there since old place burned. Cozy little place with a lounge area. They have live music on the weekend. The food was excellent, and service top notch.

Don't waste your time..food is from save a lot and kept in dollar tree containers. Servers are okay depends on which one you get. Kitchen is disgusting, live music is terrible and it's expensive for awful food you can cook at home.

Don't waste your money or time !! I had the smoked sausage and pork chops. Chop was thin and way way overcooked. Smoked sausage was simply a kielbasa nothing smoked about it. Ordered a budwieser got a but light. Don't believe the menue on here it's not even close. I went for the buffet and salad bar. When I realized there was nothing of the sort they blamed the fire that happened over 3 years ago. They've had plenty of time to change their menue here but they don't to falsely draw in unexpected customers only to be disappointed!! Onion rings were burnt both mine and hers. She ordered coffee that come in a Styrofoam cup diner come with plastic fork. Food was WAY WAY overpriced for what it was. I don't mind paying for a good product but this was not it !!! I'll never return to this place !! Again DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE !!! Shame on the owner and manager. Yes the place burned 3 YEARS AGO !!! They act like it happened yesterday. Again DONT GO HERE YOULL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

A cool old (circa. 1960) place to stay with modern amenities. The original restaurant and trading post was destroyed by fire several years ago. The restaurant is now behind the original location. They have good food and live music. I will definitely stay there again when in the area.

Just ok, would not return.Atmosphere is ok with the live music and decor.Food was nothing special. Chicken strips were the best part. Pulled pork had no flavor. Bun was soggy. Sides were ok.Worst part, the waitress's hair was in my slaw when she brought out our plates. Put the ponytail in the back, honey.
