The Smoke House Live Music Every Weekend

Stumbled upon this gem on our way South. Sunday open mic was great!

My family loved this place. We stopped through to stay at the Smoke House Hotel coming home from a trip and went to the Patio for dinner. It’s a small eclectic space, with live music every Fri and Sat, and the food was good with generous portions. We highly recommend the fried okra and fried pies with ice cream, both were amazing! We loved the atmosphere and friendly people and hope to visit again. You could bring your family, come on a date, or to hang out with friends. Don’t let the location or look of the place scare you away-this place is a real gem.

This is a different experience since the fire. Still quaint with a homely vibe. Food was good-fried pies were fantastic.

Completely different than it was years ago. The restaurant burned down and hasn't been replaced. There is a small building behind the hotel that is open on the weekends and where you can catch the live music that was also lost in the fire. So...just know it isn't what you might remember, no big buffet restaurant and no gift shop. But the Lodge is still there, and it is dated but okay overall. Big swimming pole out back and lots of seating areas around your rooms too. Live Music in the evenings when open on the weekend is good stuff and is free and worth a visit in itself if you love live music.

Thought it might be something good but it sucked. Son’s hamburger patty was as thin as one form McDonald’s and obviously a pre-formed frozen patty. Crinkle cut fries from piggly wiggly probably…. Wife’s sausage sandwich seemed to be a ballpark hot dog My sausage platter with onions and peppers was greasy as hell…. Only plus was the fried Brussels sprouts. Pretty good… Water was in bottles and you had to pay a buck each Paper plates and plastic silverware! Seemed like a bad picnic It was raining and the roof was leaking. Never again….

Staying in a cabin while visiting family in the area. Excellent customer service. Cabin was clean and absolutely love the privacy and really makes you feel like your on vacation. Definitely will be back. Highly recommend

My companion and I stopped at the Smoke House Lodge & Cabins late at night during a TERRIBLE storm. I was greeted by a friendly front desk attendant (Chris). He was kind and accommodating. Our room was clean, tidy, and all we needed to rest while the storm passed over night.

The staff is very helpful and friendly! The cabin is nice, suitable furnishings, coffee pot provided, quiet location. Although we didn’t need it, it is good that there was a stack of wood for the fireplace. The bed was too soft and very rickety.

there was something in the attic, and it was scampering wildly! living in a log cabin ourselves, we have experience with squirrels, coons, and other critters, so we went back to sleep soon enough. the cabin was well appointed but in poor condition, especially the floor., with multiple weak spots and a missing tile near the bathroom. short black hairs on the pillowcases. office staff nice, although we got some faulty advice about the condition of the mountain goat trail to suwanee. restaurant was good, especially the brussel sprouts (never thought i'd be complimenting brussel sprouts!). just a run down property, well past its prime. hopefully saving money to rebuild big restaurant. based on the grill it should be good. wish we'd experienced some live music, but improvements must be made or rates lowered for us to return.

Desk help was very efficient. Coffee was fresh. Rooms were clean. We had a room in the back of Hotel which offered very little noise! Nice setting and atmosphere. Would be a great location to stay when exploring the area.

Staying here for a quick overnight and at check was told of a "locals policy." Apparently, because other people break the law, they feel it is ok to badger everyone who lives in a 100 mile radius about why you are here. FYI, that is discrimination. There is not a hotel in business that doesn't deal with people breaking the law. Good job alienating and offending your law abiding clients. I will not be repeating the mistake of a reservation.

All I tried to do was speak to someone at the front desk about an existing reservation. I had booked two consecutive nights through different booking agents and wanted to make sure I wasn't going to have to switch rooms. A good deal for EVERYONE INVOLVED. So WHY is Smoke House Lodge keeping its actual on site front desk number a secret? I tried twice to speak with an on site front desk clerk, and was intentionally disconnected bought times. This was a simple issue that could have been easily rectified with a human being on the other end of the phone. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT WON'T ACCEPT YOUR CALL.

The timber frame cabin was cute and cozy. Sheets & towels were nice. Was in desperate need of a good cleaning. The second night of our stay we were awaken numerous times by a mouse running around the kitchen & eating table, trying to get into the food we had brought and leaving pellets everywhere. Front desk seemed to be unconcerned, unapologetic and said they would pass the info on to maintenance and housekeeping. Cold weekend and the in wall heat never seemed to get it very warm in the cabin.

We used to make a special trip here before it burned down. Stopped by the “enclosed” patio and won’t be back. Green beans were tasteless. Sausage and onions were greasy. Okra and fried pickles were great. Light in bathroom didn’t work with no hot water. Very cold inside even with fire. Over $70 for 3 people for a meal served on paper plates and plastic utensils.

Do not bother to stop at this 50+ year old roadside inn. Room smelled like it was fumigated when we opened the door. Paint on Walls and Ceiling was starting to peal off the surfaces from which had been shellacked over several years back. Went to take a bath and there was no hot water. Main bedroom had two old table lamps made for two bulbs each which only had one 25 equivalent bulb each one (very dim lighting). Beds were OK. No roaches or bugs. Try to avoid this old poorly maintained inn.
