My boyfriend and I use to love this place, we had it almost every other day. But here lately the food has been low quality.. use to be $25 for two meals the chicken was always hot and veggies and rice fresh (without drinks) but now that everything is $29+ (again without drinks) for two meals the chicken has gotten chewy and the carrots are mushy. The Rice? pretty good, overall THAT was the best part of my meal.. unfortunately the price has gone up but the quality has gone down.. that sucks because I really liked this place..
Food isn't completely terrible, but definitely blan flavor for Asian food. Years ago this place was amazing has went downhill for sure.

The lowest quality Asian food we've ever had. Ordered a hibachi chicken and teriyaki chicken and there was no difference in taste of the chicken. Ordered two entrees for $27-$28...Used to be a great place. What a shame. Otherwise they were really fast!

A hidden gem I discovered passing the long line of cars waiting on the highway to get in. Went to try it myself the following week. Simply amazing! Thought it was a little pricey for not being hibachi tables, but definitely worth the trip.
Love the people , the service and the amount of food you get, you can feed two people.

My favorite quick healthy meal. Love their shrimp sauce! This is still one of the best fast Japanese restaurants in the area. I've been eating at Akita for years and just realized yesterday, the serving and wait staff are probably done of the nicest and most customer service oriented people on average than any other restaurant I've been to. They are always pleasant and cheerful about assisting you. The food is great, the service makes it even better.

First time. Had the hibachi steak and mushrooms with sweet carrots and fried rice. Very good, and quick, friendly service.Vegetarian options: There was a vegetable dish, though I do not know if it's "certified" vegetarian.
We ate there a while back for the first time. And the food was so good it was delicious, we live in Middlesboro which is like an hour away. now we tried to go to Akita’s, at least 2 or 3 times a month. and I always get enough to bring home too. Sometimes we eat their and sometimes we just get it to go. My husband gets the steak and chicken vegetables and carrots. And he loves it. I usually get mine in side orders cause I feel like you get more I get rice with teriyaki put on it. I get the zucchini and onions extra well-done with teriyaki put on it, and a side order carrots and I’ll get teriyaki chicken sometime’s, but I’m more of just a vegetable person myself. and then usually when we leave. I’ll get another side of rice and zucchini onions, well done with the teriyaki put on it. And we can eat on it for a couple days . and normally I can’t stand the Japanese mayonnaise or Japanese sauce whatever you wanna call it but I love theirs, so I always get 2 or 3 of them to go. It’s the only one I’ve tried, that I like. It’s Delicious..also I can’t stand carrots, but their sweet carrots are delicious, I love them, and it’s the only Japanese place that I know of that even has them. The only thing that I would recommend about this place would be that they would get the Japanese soup and that would be amazing. The prices aren’t bad either. Unless you order like I do, lol because I feel like I get more by ordering sides so I’m paying like $15 or $16 bucks for rice, carrots, and zucchini and onions. Basically A vegetable plate.. it would be much cheaper if I ordered just a vegetable plate, but I think you get way more if you order the sides. you pay more but you get more, and I can always eat on it longer like that . so you get your moneys worth .
