My son loved the chicken sandwich and the potatoe wedges were so good as well. Very kind lady who helped us!
Southern Comfort Food…the chicken was the star. Butter beans, Mac & cheese and fries were excellent too. Great family place for chicken…can get sandwiches, fried chicken, complete meals for 8-10-12-16. Paper plates, real silverware, paper towels for napkins…this place is eclectic but the food well worth the visit!
We've been going Champy's for years, We missed a few months until we moved back to the area. We have always nick named it 'High Dollar Chicken' but the potions were so large it was worth it. Tonight was such a letdown, not only had the prices gone up 30% but the portions were cut in half. Never have we ever felt such a let down from such an iconic restaurant. I completely understand the rise in price with the economy in ruins, but don't skimp on the portions. Use to be you didn't leave Champy's hungry. but tonight we came home and cooked a pizza.
Good value, get there early for best selection.
Great atmosphere and really good food. Fried green tomatoes for an appetizer was excellent. I had the catfish and chicken and can't wait to go back again.
Awesome
We saw a number of people going into this restaurant. Fried chicken sounded good for dinner so we went in. The decor theme is (?) sports, rustic barn with chandeliers and red Christmas lights. It is a loud, noisy place. We had chicken tenders and a mix of white and dark meat. Sides are baked beans (good) and slaw (not good). The tenders were fine, as well as, the white meat (breast). The dark meat thigh and leg were not well cooked and the leg bone was broken. How does that happen? Each plate came with a slice of white bread. There was no butter, jelly, honey. What do you do with the dry bread? We left it untouched along with the uneaten slaw. Then we found out a surcharge of 4% is added if not paying by cash and a debit card is not considered cash, so we had to pay the surcharge. The service was very good.
How can I describe this joint? Take a liberal helping of B.O.'s Fish Wagon (Key West). Add a couple spoonfuls of Hooters Restaurant. Mix in some really tasty Fried Chicken. Throw everything in a Tennessee Vols Crockpot. Serve with a garnish of happy old and young customers. Now you've got a pretty good idea of what to expect at Champys. Great food. Great Service. Great Prices. It's the real deal!
I fed my dog some of their food now he’s dead?
My bill for my 2 piece chicken meal was $15.28. I added a tip of $3.00. By my math calculations that equals $18.28. for the total bill to be charged. Imagine my surprise when the transaction cleared my bank account, and they had added $2.00 more, so a total of $20.28 was charged to my bank account!!!!! Unethical, a ripoff and dishonest to do that!!

The food and service as well as the drinks are always good here. The catfish and chicken are always fresh. My complaint is the new 4% add on when you pay with a credit or debit card. Really? A 4% add on for using a debit card. Although we like the food and service I think we will be dining elsewhere.
Ate here because it was a very short walk from our hotel (Fairfield Inn). Sat at the bar to eat so I don’t know if the table service was good or not, but it was very busy so people must like it. The drive-thru was a mile long which to me is a strong indicator of good food. The bartenders were wonderfully awesome & super patient with my numerous questions & requests. Large beer selection, I had the Hippies & Cowboys IPA and highly recommend it. The chicken smelled delicious but I ordered the seafood gumbo and that was very good and had a nice little kick to it. Everyone at the bar was friendly & funny. This was a Sunday so lots of football on the TVs. Go to Champy’s ~ you won’t be disappointed!
I’ve been here multiple times and will continue to return. They have delicious fried chicken and salads. Everyone in the family, regardless of age, loves this place!
This place has quite the schtick looking like an old run down southern jam joint. But the food and service is right on. Grab ya a 40 and kick back and enjoy.
Tried Champy's at another TN location a week ago and it was awesome, so we decided to try it again at another location. The reason for trying this location instead of just going to the last location we ate at was that years ago when we lived here the building was a sushi restaurant (Sushi Nabe) that we used to frequent a lot. We were curious as to what it looked like now that Champy's had moved in and done their Roadhouse vibe style thing to it. Atmosphere- The cool thing is how Champy's apparently takes locations that exist and transform them into a roadhouse bar kind of vibe. It's country chic and fun and no 2 locations look the same. Service- As with our other location visit our server was polite, attentive and friendly. She brought our food out fast, again asked if I wanted the slaw from my sandwich on the side or on the sandwich. Kept our drinks full. Food- The things we ordered at the last location were so good we didn't even try to deviate this time. my wife got the 3 wing plate with 3 wings, a slice of loaf bread and baked beans. I had the spicy chicken sandwich that comes with fries (and my slaw on the side) and this time we tried an appetizer, the fried Jalepenos. Like the service, the food was consistently awesome between the 2 locations. The wings were super crispy but juicy and moist inside The chicken sandwich was also crispy outside and juicy inside, a nice thick chicken breast. The hot sauce has a great flavor and is the right amount of spicy. Fries were plentiful and crispy, baked beans were homemade tasting and delicious, slaw is on point. This location even had a little cooler where they sold small bottles of coke which made this location even better for my wife because she never drinks Coke unless it is ice cold and in a bottle. The fried Jalepenos were also awesome and next time we will be trying the fried green tomatoes. In my opinion, Champy's is the best chicken place around. It's simple and good food but it is done RIGHT!! One of our favorite if not THE favorite places for lunch and definitely our go-to for chicken. I
