Easily the best cocktail bar in Nashville, and I have visited many. This place is absolutely gorgeous, decorated beautifully... one might even say over-the-top, which is perfect. The cocktails are built with precision and care. The bartenders are highly trained, and happy to discuss the details of Mixology with you. You can even find rare things on the menu such as Pappy Van Winkle. Just be prepared to not know if you are in the right place. With no signage outside, and only a tiny address number on a tiny mailbox on the porch of this big old house, you might drive or walk past it twice like we did. Just follow the people. Sadly, we hear that this bar is moving to a rooftop location. Personally, I think this is a terrible move. If I want a gorgeous prohibition-style bar, I wanted to be hidden and secluded... I don't want a rooftop view. There are lots of other places in Nashville for that.

First of all, if I could give them negative stars I would, but hopefully my post will get the point across. Myself and two friends, one who happened to be black, were standing in the doorway when they opened. That's when the s*** started! After everyone else had been let in, finally a staff member let us in. We were all dressed nicely because we had plans for dinner later at Sambucca and were just going to have a few drinks before heading to the gulch. Immediately, all eyes were on us because two white women were with a black man! The bartended finally took our order and after waiting almost 15 minutes to get our drinks, we went ahead and order another round. There were two guys sitting around the corner of the bar from us and one of them whispered something to the bartender and began to laugh and staring directly at us. By this time, we all felt very uncomfortable. The bartender came back to us without our drinks but rather our bill. The three of us began to ask questions about it and the only answer we got was, "you don't fit in here and need to leave!" Needless to say, our blood was boiling! We knew why. We weren't stupid! It was because there was a black gentleman with us. In fact, he was the only one in the bar! By this time, I was irate because we were paying customers just like the rest of the crowd in there, with the exception of one thing....my friend was black. My friend and I had words with the whispering customer and bartender and told them they were racist and if our bill was getting paid, someone else would have to pay it! I shoved the empty glasses at him so hard they broke and proceeded to tell them that my friend, who happened to be black, was a better human being than both of them and they needed to look in the mirror at themselves. As we got to the door to exit, my black friend politely handed the bartender money to cover our drinks and believe it or not, enough for a 25% tip!! We turned and walked away knowing we'd never be back, but could hold our heads up knowing we were the better people! So, for anyone considering going, don't! They don't have any morals about them whatsoever and are udder and complete racists!! Save your money and hit Bar Louis and Sambucca. They were extremely attentive and glad to have our business!

My mom and I stopped in here after dinner on a weekday and had about a 5 minute wait. We were seated at the bar and had the best service! We loved it so much that we made sure to come back our last night in Nashville. The wait was a little longer since it was a Friday. We waited about 45 minutes maybe. The drinks on their menu are sorted by alcohol and start off basic at the top and get a little more adventurous as you go down. Each specialty drink was $17. There wasn't a drink that I didn't like but I would say the Lady Stardust was my favorite. I would come back every single time I visit Nashville!

This hidden little gem can't be missed if youd like to experience what a 5-star speak-easy cocktail lounge looms like. When I say hidden, our Uber driver even circled the place twice. The wait is well worth it for the professionalism and knowledge you get from behind the bar. And what a selection of spirits, from the crafty menu down to Pappy Van Winkle's 15-year by the ounce. But the decor is perhaps my favorite part...from behind the velvet curtain of the tiny cozy waiting room appears its low ceilings covered in pressed tin tiles, warm lovely chandelier lighting and lots of intimate seating options. They're moving though! :( I only hope the new place can duplicate this perfection.

I stopped in while staying in the area one evening as I absolutely love finding unique cocktail bars. I was fortunate to score a decent seat at the bar and Jason was my bartender. They have an interesting, large and unique menu and the décor is fabulous! Very dim/dark and intimate in there! He helped me pick out a cocktail, I opted for the First Family and it was outstanding! One of the best cocktails I've had in a while! Not very sweet, slightly nutty and the alcohol was perfectly masked with the flavors. I also tried their smoked chicken wings and they were pretty decent too, but they're wings. I highly recommend stopping in here! Especially if as a couple or even a group looking for an intimate setting to chat!! But good luck finding a large sign outside to point you to this place, it's tough to find!

July 2022:Perfect place for a very well made cocktail with a vibe. The lighting is dim, the volume is vibrant and the bartenders are artists making sure every cocktail is perfect. This was a recommendation with the warning to be patient. We arrived shortly after opening so there wasn't a wait for 2 at the bar. We were greeted and offered to answer any questions we might have. The drink menu is lengthy so we looked through that and the bartender almost appeared when we were ready to order. Watching the bartender make the drinks was a bit of a show. The bar setup itself is beautiful. The drinks were great! A little pricey at first look, but the craftsmanship is worth it.

The Patterson House makes you feel like you're in an Ernest Hemingway novel. Candlelit tables and wooden surfaces harken back to another era. My personal favorite, the shishito peppers, roasted to perfection. It's the kind of place you want to order an Old Fashioned to match the vibe, but any of their hand crafted cocktails are a good option and made with expertise. I don't live in Nashville anymore, but there's not another like it that I've come across yet! (The signature move: they leave your receipt inside a book!)

This place is super vibeyyy. It is super dark and moody! I stopped in with a friend before grabbing dinner one night. Their drink selection is vast and I didn't know half of the ingredients listed, but our server was super helpful in making suggestions.I ended up getting the Vicars Folly! I was a bit thrown off because one of the ingredients was egg yolk! I am used to egg whites in drinks, but have never had egg yolk! The drink was delicious. I could really taste the honey!I really enjoyed this place and would love to bring my husband here for a date night!

Of all the bars and restaurants I visited on a week-long trip to Nashville, The Patterson House was my #1 highlight. My friend discovered this bar after having drinks at Tin Roof nearby. She walked by, felt immediately impressed, then made reservations the following evening for a small group of us. Granted, this was a month ago, and according to their website they no longer take reservations. Classic speakeasy move.I can't remember what exactly we had to drink, but these were QUALITY cocktails. At speakeasies, I like giving the bartender a spirit and flavor profile, then letting them play with what to make me. Everything was deliciously boozy. Some of the best cocktails I've had, I'd dare to say! We also ordered a few appetizers, including dips, charcuterie, and tots. Perfect complement to our smorgasbord of drinks.Service was fantastic. I wish to come back here and sit at the bar by myself or with a date. Love the tables with dim mood lighting to hang out with friends, though. Definitely come here as soon as you find out about this place because The Patterson House will undoubtedly become more popular and harder to visit as time goes on. Even if you have to wait, the ambiance, food, and drinks are totally worthwhile.

A nice evening at a great spot. I stopped here to see a friend as I passed through on my cross country road trip. Came in not knowing what to expect, and immediately felt at ease with the vibe. I sat at the bar and was entertained by the bartenders and their knowledge of spirits and dining. I got to view how the bartenders and wait staff interacted and always keeping things professional in their preparation. I was thirsty and hungry, so started off trying a couple whiskeys that the bartender recommended off of my prior experiences. Had the olives as an appetizer that were pretty good and filling. Then migrated to the entree portion and enjoyed a perfect cooked burger that went well with the whiskeys I was enjoying. All in all had a great experience and definitely recommend anyone to come by here. The staff was cool and friendly and made for a nice evening. Thanks.

Went with friends to the speak easy bar upstairs and among us we sipped 6 amazing cocktails. Waiters are really knowledgable and bartenders can whip up whatever you like!

If you are looking for a great cocktail and small bites, this place has both. Such a cute and quaint bar with speakeasy vibes.

Unexpectedly cool spot in a college part of town. Step in and be transformed into a different world of unique drinks and top notch bar food. These bartenders take the job serious and the results show.

A real speakeasy bar! Behind the velvet curtain was a dimly lit bar with a large assortment of bottles and a bartender with great knowledge of her craft. I’m sorry I don’t remember her name but she’s from Texarkana Texas and just amazing to watch her !! The expansive menu was fun to read and make selections. The meat and cheese board was delicious as well as the loaded tator tots. We had vodka, bourbon and amaretto sour drinks. Enjoyed the company and conversation of other guests at the bar. Just a fun place to visit and walking distance from our Graduate hotel.
