I had my usual, the 200-degree (med) breast quarter with Fries. This is the best Hot Chicken in Nashville, and it's not even close. 400 Degrees has been the best for many years!

For goodness sake! This is THE BEST chicken anywhere plain or spicy! The flavor is addictive, crust wonderfully crunchy. The chicken ( and the fish) moist! I am a native Nashvillian . I’ve been eating Nashville Hot Chicken WAY before it was a thing- when there were only 2 or 3 places in town. THIS IS the OG! It’s what Nashville Hot Chili’s supposed to taste like! I’ve been eating at 400 degrees 14 or 15 yrs- I’m very picky about what I will eat! Out of all those time over the years I’ve never been disappointed! Why? Because Owner, Aqui Hines- cooks every one of my pieces of chicken herself- made to order- and she’ll make your chicken too with love! Don’t waste time at the Tourist chains- GO TO THE REAL SOURCE! You can thank me later!

We were able to experience the degrees of heat at the Nashville International Airport (BNA) location. We ordered the 100-degree chicken wings with a side of onion rings and the 200-degree chicken tenders with a side of tater tots and shared our meals.🔥
What we appreciated about the chicken was how favorable each bite was. While the heat will hit you, the various seasonings in the coating will make you continue to indulge (despite the hotness). My recommendation is to ask for a second side of ranch and keep dipping to coat your tongue! LOL🔥
I was a little disappointed to not be able to try the catfish at the BNA location, but maybe next time we visit we can venture to the other location.

I've been to damn near every hot chicken establishment in middle TN. Started at Prince's and Bolton's when I was a little kid and haven't stopped since. 400 Degrees wears the crown now. Prince's old spot on Ewing was the best. But now? It's 100% unequivocally Aqui and her 400 Degrees establishment on Clarksville Pike. If you're getting hot chicken in Nashville, the birthplace, then you go to Aqui. By far the best in the game right now.
First time here and having proper Hot Chicken and let me say this was so worth the visit. We tried their 100, 200, 400, and 800 and let me say, hot damn! I don’t know how they manage to get the chicken so crispy and juicy. Considering the seasoning on it, it was surprising how crispy the fried chicken was - impressive. The spice profile builds so when you bite in, you taste the various flavors and seasonings without it just being hot. My favorite was the 400, it had an incredible, savory and spicy flavor across the board along with a little acidity so not sure how they pulled that off. The 800 just had an over powering chili flavor and not much else (it was good but it tasted like a teaspoon full of chili powder). Not quite my jam without more acidity (if I had a lemon, I’d squeeze that on but then it won’t be hot chicken). The heat profile was on point though, but it didn’t last for a crazy long time. Only reason for the 4 stars over 5 was because the fries were simply ok and could have used a bit more salt. The service was great! Ordered online and it was ready by the time we got there and the lady at the counter was so sweet. When she saw what we ordered, she wished us well and warned us it would be hot. She was right but it was also very good. Hit the spot for sure!
