I've been to damn near every hot chicken establishment in middle TN. Started at Prince's and Bolton's when I was a little kid and haven't stopped since. 400 Degrees wears the crown now. Prince's old spot on Ewing was the best. But now? It's 100% unequivocally Aqui and her 400 Degrees establishment on Clarksville Pike. If you're getting hot chicken in Nashville, the birthplace, then you go to Aqui. By far the best in the game right now.
First time here and having proper Hot Chicken and let me say this was so worth the visit. We tried their 100, 200, 400, and 800 and let me say, hot damn! I don’t know how they manage to get the chicken so crispy and juicy. Considering the seasoning on it, it was surprising how crispy the fried chicken was - impressive. I was expecting food to be very hot. The "inferno" sandwich was quite tasty but not hot (contains both 200 and 400 degree chicken tenders). I had some Tabasco on the fries following and it was significantly hotter. All tasty and worth a try, just not super hot.
