AJâs Good Time Bar has an authentic name behind it and is exactly what the name promises â a good time! The staff here is absolutely amazing, always friendly, welcoming, and on top of everything to make sure youâre having the best experience possible. The food is delicious and goes perfectly with the fun, laid-back vibe of the place.
What really sets this bar apart is the atmosphere. Itâs the perfect spot to socialize, enjoy live classic country music, and meet great people. Whether youâre out with friends or just looking to soak in the Nashville energy, AJâs makes you feel right at home. Every visit feels like youâre creating lifelong memories.
Highly recommend this spot if youâre in downtown Nashville, itâs one of the best bars on Broadway

Literally fun for everyone 1st level had live band 2nd level is live bad acoustic and 3rd floor is karaoke! Best bar in Nashville broadway! Chris makes the best mix drinks I've ever had! I loved the atmosphere the drinks Chris made and the history behind this place! Go see Chris for an amazing drink! He made everyone their own personal drink based on their taste! It was amazing!
AJâs Good Time Bar trades on Alan Jacksonâs name, but the reality doesnât live up to the brand. Food: There isnât a real kitchen here. Most food comes from a ghost kitchen partnership, and after 6 p.m. the upstairs menu is basically overpriced frozen snacks. $14â15 Red Baron pizzas, $6 undercooked hot dogs from a roller grill, and $8â9 chicken tenders from an air fryer that doesnât seem to get cleaned often. Definitely not worth the price. Service: Instead of being welcomed, youâre pressured. Door staff act like street hawkers, stepping into your path and pushing you to come inside. Once in, the place feels unkemptâdirty floors, dusty outlets, and bartenders more interested in their phones than customers. Drinks arenât much better: $5 PBR or Busch Light isnât a deal when you can get a full âRecession Specialâ (PBR, sandwich, chips, MoonPie) across the street at Robertâs Western World for $6. The barâs real focus is selling SilverBelly Whiskey, Alan Jacksonâs brand, but even staff admit they donât like it. Atmosphere: The bar feels less like a Nashville honky-tonk and more like a tourist trap. There are plenty of authentic, cleaner, more welcoming options on Broadway that offer better food, prices, and live music. Bottom line: AJâs might draw you in with the name, but itâs overpriced, low-quality, and pushy. Save your time and moneyâthere are far better spots within a few steps.

It is a pleasure to take the time to write about my most humble experience at AJâs Good Time Bar in Nashville, Tennessee. I want to bring the spotlight to Chris, a humble, caring, and attention to detail when it comes to customer service and delicious drinks being made promptly.
As a group of six walking up to the 3rd floor, we were greeted by Chris who immediately introduced himself, welcomed us to the bar, and most importantly, sanitized the area where we were seated. It was very busy and Chris was no stranger to a crowd but still managed to ensure everyone had their drinks made and continuously asked us if we wanted another refill. His recommendations on some of the drinks got us out of the âusualâ drink order which was nice to taste other drinks that we have not had before. Although Chris was busy with other customers, he still took the time to know us on a personal level and have a connection. Even other regulars talked highly about him (mind you, this was our first interaction with him). This is how you treat your customers because the end goal is satisfaction, ensuring the customer is comfortable, and have a higher chance of customers returning which is what we did for the next two days.
Every time we visit Broadway, we have many choices to choose from but moving forward, I will still continue to choose AJâs Good Time Bar as my preferred bar in Nashville. Chris would make a greater leader and trainer for new bartenders joining the team.

Chris was our bartender and made the best drinks Iâve ever hadâ the second floor was our absolute favorite on our girls trip. Music was phenomenal and the service from Chris was amazing, will definitely be coming back next time!!!
