Phenomenal cuisine and service. generous portion sizes as well. Fried green tomatoes with lobster were excellent, and so was the trout.

The atmosphere was intimate and alive. Upscale. Our server was just perfect. We had a sampling of dishes from Sushi, salad, toast and mushroom together with entrees that included Trout, Halibut and Fried Chicken. What a variety.
All the dishes were unique. A lady came by to ask how things were and I said exquisite and then asked who she was. She demurred. But I knew she must be the owner. I truly loved the Answer!!!

I was severely disappointed by my recent experience at this restaurant. My husband and I enjoy trying new places in the Nashville area, and I can honestly say I’ve never received customer service so poor that it deserved my time to write a review.
We visited on NYE to enjoy happy hour with friends. My husband and I arrived first and waited to speak with the hostess. I explained that we wanted bar top seating for happy hour and that friends would be joining us, but they weren’t here yet. My husband clearly stated that there would be five of us in total. The hostess told us there were two parties ahead of us to be seated bar top, took my name, and did not provide a wait time. When I asked how long the wait might be, she cleaned part of the bar area and informed us that she could not locate the other parties, so we could take the two open seats.
The group of 3 beside us had received their check just before we were sat, so we thought even though we were being sat without them, this seating was intentional because it was opening up soon. This did not appear to be a first-come, first-served bar environment, so we believed our remaining seats were accounted for. As our final friend was walking through the door, two other guests were seated. One of which took the spot that our friend was to sit at. My husband explained that the seat was already accounted for, which understandably upset those guests.
At that point, the hostess approached us from behind as we were talking and said, “Next time just say that there’s five instead of just saying two.” I responded that we had, in fact, stated there would be five people. My husband tried to give the benefit of the doubt and said that he understood that it’s loud in the restaurant, but he did ask for 5. He also said more than once that more people would be coming. The hostess then put two fingers uncomfortably close to my face and said twice, “No you didn’t. You said two.” It was oddly aggressive and she was very upset upon approaching us before we even knew what was going on.
I try to put myself in other peoples shoes. I know you never know what people are going through, they might be having a hard day, etc. However, I have worked with the public for over ten years, including in management, and this behavior was entirely unprofessional and unacceptable. I sincerely hope management uses this feedback as an opportunity to coach their team and, that specific hostess, on professionalism, communication, and customer service. You don’t take it out on other customers, because someone else was upset with you for a misunderstanding. It was clear that there was an opportunity to better address the situation. When customers are upset, approaching the interaction with kindness and strong customer service can, in most cases, de-escalate a negative experience and turn it into a positive one. If behavior like this goes unaddressed, it will negatively impact the establishment regardless of food quality and atmosphere. There are plenty of other trendy places to go in Nashville, and this is not something that’s going to set you apart in a good way.
I do want to note that our bartender was very kind. I know most people don’t want to read a long review, but this is a good opportunity for management. I hope there are good leaders there to mentor and coach to professionalism, overall customer service, and unacceptable behavior.

This looks harsh but there is a reason for it. We came in on New Years Eve asking for bar seating. The hostess, whose name we didn’t get but was wearing a red sweater and had blonde hair, asked how many seats we needed. We talked back and forth and finally said five. I held my hand up to her with five fingers open when I told her this. Two seats opened up and she sat us quickly which we thought was odd, but there was a group of three on the corner that had paid and were finishing their drinks so we assumed she had it handled. Two of our other three showed up very shortly after and had to stand for a few minutes before the other group left. Our fifth was walking in when someone sat down at our other seat. I told them we actually had five in our party and at that time our fifth was right behind them. They got up and complained to the hostess. Rightfully so after having just been sat. The hostess came up to my wife and very emphatically said that next time tell her we needed five seats and not just to take the seats. I told her we asked for five. She threw two fingers up in my wife’s face and said you asked for two. My wife was very polite and said ma’am we asked for five but we’re sorry for the misunderstanding. The hostess threw her fingers up two more times, while squinting her eyes and bobbing her head, telling us we had said two. This ruined our night. The bartender Mick was amazing, very polite and timely. The food that our friends ordered looked alright and they said it was good. But after having such a negative experience with the hostess I can guarantee we will not be back. Teach ownership to your employees. There was no reason for the hostility that she came at us with.

I love this place! The Happy Hour is awesome. There was a whole crew of couples on first dates sitting around the bar hanging out and it was clear the guys/gals made a good choice in location.

Bar Top Only Happy Hour advertised. Got here and sat so close to a barstool I could see my neighbors nose hairs, but wasn’t sitting at “the bar”. Full price. Truly a curb your enthusiasm episode. An episode built for Larry David.

Absolutely delicious!!! The flavor and quality of the food was incredible. You can’t go wrong with any dish but highly recommend the panzanella and fried green tomatoes as appetizers and then the trout and bucatini. I expected the portions to be small but they were not at all- the trout has 2 filets! Desserts were all made in house and sooo yummy!

Our experience with our waiter today was disappointing. When we asked which item on the happy hour menu was the most filling, she replied, “It’s only $6, just get two,” which came off as dismissive. After that, she hardly checked on us—we had to get her attention near the end of happy hour. When she finally brought the check, it wasn’t split between the three of us, and after waiting about 35 minutes, we had to flag down another server just to pay. The service felt inattentive and dismissive, which really took away from what could’ve been an enjoyable happy hour.

Delicious, thoughtful, creative dishes and simple but elegant cocktails. My partner and I have already visited twice again after our first visit a few weeks ago to try out everything on the menu. Whether you’re coming in for a few snacks for happy hour, or a full three course dining experience, this is THE place to be in Nashville if you want a fantastic experience.
