What's the hype? Overrated. Trendy I guess. The bread was good.

Japanese-inspired espresso drinks and artful lattes meet a menu of flavorful brunch and lunch dishes that balance creativity and comfort. Whether you’re stopping in for a coffee or staying for a full meal, the expanded lunch menu—featuring touches from their Kisser (Bib Gourmand) roots—makes this café both stylish and satisfying. The chef couple continues to impress Nashville’s dining scene.

We are visiting from out of state and this place popped up in the top 25 so we were eager to check it out! We were NOT disappointed and we only ordered from the bakery! We ordered the sausage rolls- delicious and I ordered a cream filled pastry topped with streusel that was to die for! The chef is definitely doing something unique with her recipes and it shows. The only thing is if you want to really enjoy this experience to the fullest MAKE A RESERVATION before you go otherwise you will be waiting in line. The line was rather quick and that’s commendable but once you get your food finding a place to sit and eat is first come first serve basis- and there is limited seating inside- just something to consider. We definitely want to return WITH A RESERVATION and order from the menu and indulge. The place has a great atmosphere overall.

Delicious Japanese inspired food and pastries!
We got the seasonal kabocha filled brioche doughnut (not too sweet, a lot of pumpkin cream filling, and a crunchy sweet topping), the breakfast sando (tamagoyaki egg, sausage paddy, and sauced buns), and curry puff pastry (a little curry, delicious chili oil, a runny egg yolk and crispiest layers).
Everything was unique and high quality. Will definitely be back.

Very rude waitresses. Talk to you as if you aren’t worth their time. Food was decent.

I previously went to a trip to Japan and tried hojicha latte for the first time. I tried it here and it tasted exactly the same and just as good! There sweets are also really good I tried the Black sesame sweet roll and it was delicious. There japanese cheesecake was good too! Would recomend staff is nice and food is good!

Restaurantji Recommends
Let's be completely honest and transparent, overhyped and pricey are the first things that come to me when I hear babychan. There's no doubt that the food here is different but delicious. Receiving an authentic Japanese food in the nashville area is a blessing. Loved the chicken sandwich, loved the slice of bread with an egg on top, the strawberry sandwich is okay if you never had it before. Their matcha was something I enjoyed but coffee and other things I wouldn't order it. All you see in the pictures was close to 80dls

Matcha and miso caramel latte were misses plus they don’t offer wifi so you can’t work there. Over-rated

In a world where everything becomes more expensive every day, Babychan strives to be an outlier. Japanese-inspired espresso drinks and lattes accompany both small and large brunch and lunch bites (as well as desserts) to create a practical and delicious café experience. It is a perfect setting for grab-and-go drinks or catching up with a small group. 10/10 would recommend.

Hands down the best matcha in the city
With the new reservation system, it is so efficient and easy for a visit. Service is great. Food is delicious as always. The atmosphere is amazing too. You can also take a stroll in the neuhoff district with their free parking validation. They also try to make it a little different but still sibling like with Kisser.
