I was so excited to try this place. Everything was sweet! My macaroni and cheese was sweet! The cornbread tasted like cake! I like sweet cornbread, but this was over the top. The mashed potatoes tasted like box mix. The pork chop was good. But what is going on with all of the sweetness??

In 53y of life, I’ve never tasted Sweet Macaroni&Cheese! In fact, majority of the food was Sweet!! Greens, String Beans, Dressing, Spaghetti, Cabbage! It’s like they got a New brand of Sugar & the Chef had a Sweet Tooth! Sweet Potatoes lacking butter. We spent over $100 :( The backed turkey wings & fried chicken was good.

Service was ok but the food wasn’t good at all. It looked like it had been sitting for a while. The sweet potatoes tasted like vanilla with no other seasoning added. Baked chicken was ok but the Mac and cheese was dry it tasted like noodle with no cheeses. Will not eat here again. Not real soul food .

Ok Barr's I called the establishment today to request food shipped to me in Georgia. The staff is very friendly and talked to me like I was family. Barr's PLEASE start shipping food to hungry people that want a GOOD meal. Please please and please! Cost doesn't matter ?

I lost my dad xmas day & then lost my mom Jan 17th..7 days ago I just wanted some warm home-cooked food that reminded me of family..the food was terrible..I had Meatloaf Mac & cheese cabbage & banana pudding..there wasn't any seasoning..it was like eating a frozen dinner..I spent $26 including tip..I regret it..I've had their food delivered before (6-9months ago) it was good..I actually went in this time..I'll never eat there again..it was disappointing
I want to thank our brotha Jelly Roll for this historic recommendation via News Channel 5 last Thanksgiving. This classic soul food restaurant has the best in restaurant stuffing I have ever had. Hands Down! I don’t eat stove top nor do I eat a lot of restaurant stuffing. This is a dish no matter who makes it, will almost always taste made in your house with your own effort.I say all that in the last paragraph to illustrate how good I know their in house stuffing taste.To date, I love everything I have had to eat & I already told the owners that Barr’s Music City Soul Food is my NATIONAL NUMBER 1 go to Soul Food Restaurant.I just met the folks their one time; first at bat they treated me like I knew them or was family. Had a regular come behind me & order as they just made me feel like I know them for ages. That kind of hospitality enhances the food because of the love you feel from the folks that prepare it.
