My boyfriend and I both ordered the sandwich with mortadella and pesto! I’m pretty severely allergic to nuts so I asked if they’d be able to remove the pesto, the cashier went to check with the kitchen for me about whether or not that was doable and said that they could remove if, but that I was still taking on a risk for cross contamination, and that their kitchen was not an “allergy safe kitchen.” That was totally fine, I’m used to this, I asked if it would be easier to get my backup option (which had nothing with nuts on it.) to which they told me I’m still running the risk of cross contamination. I’ve worked food industry a long time so i appreciated the warning, but was okay with it. That being said, every kitchen I’ve worked in regularly sanitizes utensils, changes gloves, regularly wipes stations, and has some kind of practice in place meant to reduce the likelihood of cross contamination. I assumed this would be the case here, because realistically anytime I go ANYWHERE with nuts in the building I run the risk of cross contamination. I just was assuming there would at least be precaution taken? The cashier was very nice and even triple checked for me, none of my qualms are with her. After the sandwiches were finished someone from the kitchen came out to talk to us, to make sure we were still “okay with the risk.” I think I said something along the lines of “I assume the utensils were changed or washed in between?” To which she seemed hesistant and never really answered. She then told me that all of their sandwich materials are in the same fridge and that they can’t provide any guarantee someone hasn’t used a nut product, and then put it in a different nut free product. Even this I understand to a degree, even if I think it’s a potentially dangerous buisness practice, but no one knows how to operate better than the people who do it everyday so. What bothered me was when she told me that “Nuts have definitely touched this.” She offered to make me something else, which doesn’t make any sense to me seeing as she made a point to imply that everything is potently cross contaminated? I just asked to be refunded to which they had no issue with- which I appreciate. I wish someone from the kitchen would’ve have come out to explain that before, I could’ve saved them the trouble of making the Sandwich in the first place. Some of the cooks also seemed very bothered that the cashier was even asking, but I don’t really know them on a personal level - maybe it was just one of those days. I have no complaints about anything else, my boyfriend said his sandwich was very good. I’m not trying to bad mouth the business, especially since it’s a small buisness- but I just think if you have any kind of allergen you should probably steer clear, it doesn’t seem like they take that aspect very seriously.

Food was great! They don’t have a vary large menu but everything we ordered was amazing! Only downside was a lack of indoor seating. Pretty small dining area for such a popular place.

The food is ok. Nothing to get excited about and actually feels a little cheaper than you'd expect ingredients wise judging by the way it's listed on the menu and the prices they charge. This is definitely serving the yuppie crowd more than the old east Nashville crowd, 100%. The middle aged Rosie the riveter lady working the counter was incredibly fake in a very off putting way, which was highlighted a few minutes later when she didn't even remember us after just taking our order. She greeted us a second time and asked what we'd like, so we said we'd just like our order please, not trying to add to it. She seemed confused because she didn't remember us at all. Another few minutes later and she had forgotten us AGAIN when she was trying to give our order to another guest because she had rendered the name-on-the-order system completely ineffective. That fake hospitality only works when it's tacked onto good service. It doesn't work as a replacement for it. They should focus on getting the job done first and being fake friendly as a cherry on top.
That being said, I'd recommend Mitchell 10x out of 10 to anyone regardless of wealth status. The food is better. The service is better. The value is better. The seating is better. I'd only recommend this if you've tried everything else in town and feel like overpaying for a relatively disappointing new experience.
Parking: Boutique prices, somewhat bland and cheap feeling food

Ordered the Roma. For take out. It was very greasy. Like oil dripping greasy. Would not recommend this sandwich. We are vegetarians so don’t know about any others.

A place where everybody is treated like Bill. Love their sandwich concepts and execution. If it sounds interesting, try it, cause it likely tastes great together. Sandwich geniuses work here.

Got the Pittsburgh Sandwich and it really did live up to the hype - a little on the sweet side for me (the sauce on it) but that is just personal taste! Had the potato salad side with it that was good too but have had better at BE-Hive. We def be back to try out the other options!

I arrived at 130pm then close at 2pm. 5 stars for not denying me ?
The sandwich selection is minimum but you can tell the quality is there. They were sold out of 2
So I settled for the Lechon and the Drunken chicken sandwich with a desert
The chocolate brownie thing
My son didn't care for the lechon but it was a good sandwich with flavor
We both loved the drunken chicken!! The veggie pesto reminded me of a chimichurri it was delicious
I purchased my mom the bbq mac salad she said it was good
I definitely recommend if your craving a good sandwich

I recently went out of my way to try Bill's Sandwich Palace in Nashville, and it was a worthwhile detour. The place had a steady crowd, indicating its popularity. Despite the bustling atmosphere, our food took only about 15 minutes to arrive, which was impressive.
Bill's offers some inside seating and plenty of tables outside, providing a pleasant dining environment. We ordered two sandwiches, and both were good. The unique flavors were a refreshing change from typical sandwich offerings. The pasta salad was also different and tasty, adding a nice touch to our meal. One of the highlights was the availability of Mexican Coke, which was an added bonus and complemented our meal perfectly.
The atmosphere at Bill's is laid-back and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal either indoors or outdoors. The variety and quality of the food, combined with the quick service, make it a standout sandwich place in Nashville.
Overall, Bill's Sandwich Palace is definitely worth a try if you're in the area or even if you're looking for a new dining experience. The combination of unique flavors, efficient service, and a pleasant dining setting makes it a place I'd recommend to anyone. I'll certainly be back to explore more of their menu.

They were packed when we arrived in the afternoon. I got a mystery sandwich and husband got K+K Tomato sandwich. Surprise! I got a roast beef sandwich and it was super delicious. My husband K+K tomato sandwich was good too but it got soggy really fast. I don’t like soggy sandwich but my husband does. There are plenty of outdoor seating but limited indoor seating. It was hot outside. If you don’t like eating in the heat, you might have to do the takeout. Overall, it is worth the hype and we will be back for sure.
