Cute concept. Coffee wasn't very coffee, more dessert like.

We love this coffee shop. Lots of space to sit and hang out. Games on shelves to pick from and play. Great staff taking care of us. It's definitely a favorite in East Nash.

Most importantly, the coffee game is always on point! Whether it's a straight brewed black or a hot latte special blend or iced, it's always delicious and always punchy.

does 8oz of drip coffee really need to be more than $3? seems slimy to me.

edited to respond to owner feedback:

pricing alone is enough of a qualifier for a review. that’s what stood out. not the quality of the coffee or the service. if there was a review field for amount of free-to-play board games you would get 5 stars.

slimy was the word i used because 12oz is the standard for a small size at most coffee shops, or at least the dozens i’ve been to. maybe not the most reasonable word choice, but in the moment that’s how i felt. i wasn’t the only one that thought it was strange; the person who i bought the coffee for was chuckling at the small size of the cup before even said a word, asking if i got them an espresso or cortado instead by mistake.

i’ve adjusted my review to be a little more forgiving as this is a local business. i admit i was feeling aghast when i originally reviewed. i stand by the fact that i think the price for an 8oz coffee should be a bit lower, as other coffee shops in the area who also roast their own coffee or serve a premium product charge the same for a 12oz.

This place is pretty good! I came here once and ordered a warheads coffee. I don't know what I was thinking or expecting, but that thing was terrible. Would not recommend. However, the rest of their selection is delightful! They have nice drip coffee, good tea, tasty pastries, and the sell gummy bears and animal crackers. Their board game selection is great! Their service is like any other coffee shop.

I had a very disappointing experience at this café. When my friend asked a simple question about whether some items were for sale, the staff member responded in a dismissive, rude manner. Good customer service should never make people feel belittled.

What was worse is how inconsistently the café enforces its policies. We saw customers eating food from outside in the café with no issue, but when we did the same, we were told to leave. If there is a “no outside food” rule, it should be applied fairly and consistently to everyone. The fact that it wasn’t in our case made us feel singled out and discriminated against.

We left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I hope management addresses both the quality of service and the fairness of how policies are enforced, because no customer should have an experience like this.

As good as it always has been! Places that stick around aren't easy to find in Nashville and Bongo is one of those places. My favorite has always been the Grey Skies Latte but you can also pick up Bongo beans at this shop or the local Kroger's and it's just such a tasty brew! This location is the original and has so many tasty pastries and snacks and every board game you could ever want!

Its a neat place where you can order from the café and sit to play board games. The games are free and there are many to choose from. Fun spot for sure!

Had a hard cinnamon roll and my coffee tasted like warm beer! Don't waste your time or money here.

Coffee is watery. They leave the cups unfilled an inch from the top charge as much as Starbucks. I ordered a cold brew and a latte with oat milk. Not good. Update: The tomato festival was long over. Shop was not that busy. And we got cold drinks. The 1 inch excuse does not fly. I think just maybe your coffee is not that good and you are making a lot of excuses.

Coffee was too sweet, I got a warm and fuzzy and my mom got the milky way (she thought it was slightly watered down).
Customer service was not it though, zero personality, didn't make recommendations. There are too many local coffee spots to spend more money here

Quality coffee and drinks and pastries in a relaxed atmosphere with outdoor seating. Coffee Drinks here are just slightly cheaper than beers downtown. Fum Atmosphere. Definitely part of the heart of Five Points in East
