As someone with a raging sweet tooth, I'm not sure I have ever before encountered ice cream I thought was TOO sweet...until this. I sampled four flavors and purchased a fifth and they were all just overpoweringly sugary--barely a hint of whatever specific flavor; mostly just SWEET. Both my sons' flavors were also extremely disappointing. It might have been the first time in my life I actually threw away the last couple of bites (of a *tiny* cup!) of gelato--because it just wasn't even worth finishing.

Normally I am not a Gelato fan... but oooooh my Goddie this was sooooo Hottie!Located inside the Grand Ole Opry hotel, next to the entrance to the water park, this place is filled with flavor bombs! Smooth as any ice cream with flavors like Twix, salted Caramel, blackberry cheese cake, Milky Way, sweet potato maple, etc. The servings are generous, the staff delightful, and the flavors addictive! Once we found this place we came here multiple times a day! Yeah not good for the figure for sure but oooohhhhh man did the taste buds come alive! This was phenomenal! I highly recommend coming in for a double scoop in a waffle cone.

Nice hotel, great food & entertainment but could NOT sleep. Bed had to be in need of replacement with its mattress topper. My back is killing me & no pain reliever at mall or hotel. There is a lot to be said for a good night’s sleep. I am very disappointed not able to get adequate rest.

Our second time to stay here and it was just as nice as the first! The atriums are completely breathtaking and the entire resort is so classy and really makes you feel like you are on vacation from real life. We had an upgraded room that looked over the Cascades atrium. This place is enormous so if you don't like a lot of walking, consider this before you go, although we knew our way around from being there the year before. There are quite a few different restaurants to eat at. My favourite was the Jack Daniel's and the Mexican restaurant. We are considering visiting a different Gaylord location next time because we liked it so much!

Our 2023 Mustang Convertible with less than 6k miles was parked thru valet for 4 days in August 2023. Never moved. Upon checkout we went next door to the Opryland Mall and saw a ding on the passenger door frame that took the paint off down to the metal that appeared to be from the door being opened into something, it was NOT there when we gave to the valet. We contacted the Gaylord and after a couple days were put in touch with Khalim the head of Valet services who said he was looking into it and asked for photos. He was sent photos. No response. My husband went to a body shop for an estimate. It was a lot. Wasn’t expecting it to be paid for in full by the Gaylord but I also wasn’t expecting the response from Khalim that said his investigation was “inconclusive” and we could subpoena the footage if we wanted to take it further. What? How about give us points to equal a couple nights stay or at least equal to the amount my husbands company paid for the valet parking?? We will pay the grand to repair our car for your incompetence…not even sure why someone was in the passenger side when it was being valet parked…but the Gaylord will compensate nothing?? And I haven’t mentioned the miles that were put on the car while valet parked because I’m trying to give the benefit of the doubt as it is a big area. Beautiful resort and I ALWAYS pick Marriott properties for personal travel or business but I can assure you this experience will probably make me reconsider that decision for my next trip. Perhaps someone at the Opryland Gaylord should teach customer service to Khalim. Check your car. Take time stamped pictures as you drop it off and don’t pull away without checking your car completely, including your mileage.

We stayed during Christmas 2022 and the holiday spirit was alive and well at the Gaylord Opryland. The atrium is complete with a multitude of tropical plants and trees and all types of lights for the Christmas season. Outside the resort had many winter activities, ice skating, snow and sledding. They also had ice sculptures. The room were nice, we had a 2 queen atrium view room. The view from the balcony was amazing and the sound of the waterfalls were so calming. I’ll be back this Christmas!

We just spent some of the most wonderful time with our family at this hotel. As for the price, relatively expensive but we stayed in the top rooms in the Cascade section waking up to the sound of waterfalls when goin out on our terrace. To say Opryland Hotel is large is a truism but you can download a hotel app and google your way around but it is breathtaking finding your destination. A botanical garden experience is minimalizing your journey. Soundwaves, the attached water park is well worth its cost and deserves at least a half day to experience it. The free pools and jacuzzi are wonderful as well. Restaurants are plentiful filling every pocketbook price. Ravello’s was our choice for celebrating several occasions but the pizza, tacos, and burger places were excellent for the price. Lastly the staff and employees are overly helpful to you for recommendations and aiding you around the hotel property. Enjoy your stay here and get out to see Nashville as well. Military discounts help to lower your costs too.

What a fascinating hotel! I did find it challenging to find my way around. I felt like when I thought I knew where I was going I ended up someplace else. They do have a fair amount of maps around so that’s helpful. Very pretty. So much to explore and do right at the hotel. I was not impressed with the restaurants unfortunately. They do have a couple different shops and Starbucks on-site. Soundwaves was amazing, highly recommended for all ages! Kids has a blast but adults as well. Plan to be there all day and be exhausted after. I would stay here again.

Don’t stay here. I came with my husband and two children and had really high hopes for this property. It certainly does elicit oohs and aahs as you walk through the intricate gardens and waterfalls. Costumer service was the issue. I requested an upper floor and an outside view. We got a room overlooking the courtyard, specifically a very active staircase that was directly outside of the window. Children liked to frolic on it at 5am and people don’t realize that the window they are looking into as they walk up said staircase is actually a room. Honestly, this room should not be given out unless there are zero rooms left. We decided to give the room a shot and after two nights of little sleep, requested a room move. The desk lady was accommodating if unfriendly and promptly put us in the room directly behind an elevator. Anyone who has stayed in a hotel ever knows that the room behind the elevator is never quiet. So now frazzled, I return to the front desk and speak with a very nice woman who (after I suggested it) spoke with her manager about an upgrade. Tommy, the manager, stood there at his podium all high and mighty wielding his power and denied my request while shaking his head vehemently and mouthing “we can’t do that”. He really seemed seeming downright nasty about it and never even made eye contact with me, let alone approach me to attempt to discuss a solution. She came back and attempted to put us in a better room that was not by an elevator (they have lots of elevators). She settled on a room next to the vending/ice machines (?!) but better than the elevator. I know this story makes me sound like a total b*#% but I wasn’t upset about the fact that they could not (for whatever reason) come up with a suitable room, it was more in the way that Tommy handled the situation. Find a better hotel with customer service that lives up to the exorbitant cost. This is an overpriced cheap cruise ship with the breakfast buffet to match. Find some class, Tommy.

I was excited to visit The Gaylord in Nashville. However, that swiftly came to an end. It’s outrageously expensive. Packed with people to the point it’s hard to breath. There’s no way it’s safe to cram that many people in one area. It’s hot. The staff just herds everyone like cattle. We were being herded around, the place is packed. No clear indication of where we’re being herded too. We just wanted OUT. Then out of no where, a Gaylord staff member grabs my 12 year old daughter. Not only was she grabbed, but she was told to get out of the area. It took me a couple of Seconds to realize my daughter wasn’t beside me anymore. I had to walk against a massive crowd to get over to the staff member, that’s still holding onto my child, who’s now hysterically crying. Only to find out, they were herding us towards their dinner hall. My daughter didn’t have the correct badge. We had no idea where they were taking us. Everyone around us was mind blown at the way they treated a child. We immediately left and didn’t return for the rest of our trip. Never again Gaylord.

The white skinny man is disrriminatinatory. Would not recommend. We went up there and they said we can’t serve until 2pm then went to serve a white couple so they didn’t have to wait. When we got in line he mumbles to the girl worker “the sign says 2pm” and then tells us he won’t serve us till 2 and when we said he served the other couple he says it’s because he has to throw it out and it’s bad. We told him he’s clearly pulling lies out of thin air and he yells. So why would you serve another family “bad” gelato and then lie to us. He then gets mad saying he’s not racist and is looking out for us then why did it only apply to us? We will not be giving our money to a company who treats customers that way.

Our expectations were high when we chose to stay at the Gaylord Hotel Opryland, drawn by its stellar reputation as a haven for relaxation and exploration. However, our stay was marred by an unfortunate incident by the pool that significantly detracted from our overall experience. The allure of a private pool and spa was a key factor in our decision, and we eagerly anticipated a tranquil and rejuvenating time. Yet, our hopes were dashed when a group of around 15 teenagers, accompanied by an individual wearing a Lifeguard t-shirt, suddenly entered the pool area. The pool, situated in a courtyard adjacent to an event space, turned out to be much smaller than anticipated, making it difficult to escape the disruptive commotion caused by the teenagers undergoing lifeguard training. For almost an hour, we found ourselves in the midst of an unexpected spectacle, as the teens practiced life-saving techniques with a training dummy, disturbing the peaceful ambiance that we had sought. Despite the complaints voiced by several guests, the disturbance persisted, and the lack of explanation or apology from the hotel staff compounded our frustration. Curiously, the resort boasts a full-fledged waterpark, raising valid questions about why the training couldn't have been relocated there to minimize the disruption for guests. The lack of communication and accountability was particularly disheartening. After reaching out to customer service through the hotel's app, we were met with an apology for the inconvenience but no valid justification for subjecting guests to such an intrusive training exercise. The older man, who appeared to be associated with the hotel, intervened only after much time had passed and the atmosphere had soured. Unfortunately, no apology or explanation was offered by him or the lifeguard trainer. The lifeguards watching over the guests at the pool were mad about the teens being asked to leave by the older man, further highlighting the disconnect between staff members. Ultimately, what should have been a serene poolside experience turned into a regrettable and disappointing ordeal, casting a shadow over our overall impression of the Gaylord Hotel Opryland.

My experience here would have been a lot better had I received the help that I requested. My family was staying for one night but decided to book a second night through Priceline since the kids were having so much fun. We accidentally booked the same night because we were dealing with 4 kids and had been on a 2 week long road trip prior to our stay. We immediately went to the front desk and were told that they couldn’t help us because we made the reservation through Priceline. We then contacted Priceline and were told that they would have to write a letter to the hotel to see if we could receive a refund. I still have not heard and basically wasted $400 on a night at the hotel that we couldn’t even use. They wouldn’t switch us to the following night. It was a total accident and we admitted our fault but usually places like this will at least empathize and try to make it right. For almost $1000 it was disappointing. Instead of staying there the second night, we went downtown to Margaritaville where the customer service was top notch. The Gaylord is cool to see but way too expensive for what you get. We spent most of our time there walking around lost because it’s so huge and confusing to get around. We were charged for parking even though we paid close to 400 for our room. And the rooms were nothing to write home about. Moderate resort with poor service and amenities. I expect a lot more when I pay that kind of money. Margaritaville is where it’s at! Go visit the Gaylord and live it up in paradise at Margaritaville.
