Again, love this place and I have never had a bad meal here. I almost always sit at the bar, but on occasion have sat outside on their patio. This time, I went by myself and sat in the bar area on a Saturday, it was busy! Vandy was playing UK at home, too, adding to the mix! I got the bears fast sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese on bread—very good! And they have a dry white there that is really good, had that. Nicky as usual was a great server and bartender. A few minutes after I left, my kid showed up there! Nicky told him I had just left, so I went back and kept him company while he had the Bloody, country ham, biscuit and gravy—also very tasty! Always safe, and dependable food, drinks and service in my experience!

Smashburger is great! Cheese is melted perfectly. Be sure to get grilled onions on burger. Staff are very friendly & know the history of the place. Willing to take time to make you feel welcome. Will be back when visiting Nashville.

I love a good local bar and this is a really good one. Great burgers! I had a bacon and blue, with tots, a side wedge, and a couple of $4 PBR and walked with a $34 tab, hard to beat in 2025 $.
No band the Sunday night I was there, but a solid playlist of great music and friendly banter between the staff and regulars. They made me feel right at home too.
Really nice authentic spot in Nashville. Highly recommend for an unpretentious night out.

You would never know how good the food is by looking at the place, dont let it fool or deter you! The place is old, run down and looks like its worth passing by, but nothing is further from the truth. The food was great and really reasonable prices as were the drinks, a win/win! The service and looks of the people working there leave a lot to be desired, but it didnt affect the quality of food. Maybe it was an off night for our server Samantha, but she was quite absent and uncaring for the most part. We all have those days though. Not sure who the woman was walking around in shorts overalls, a crop top with her side muffins hanging out and tattoos, but it was very unprofessional looking. I think she worked at the bar. We will definitely give it another try though and order different food because there was a lot on the menu we wanted to try. Overall, worth a visit.

Onion rings were horrendous, They had like zero batter on them and were not cooked to completion. The ham is unbelievably salty and ruined the sandwich. Server was great but that doesn’t make up for the bad food. Would not recommend with many other great food choices in the area. Parking situation was also pretty odd, everyone parks wherever they want.

I have lived in the neighborhood for decades and wanted to check out the new Brown’s patio. The patio is nice but the food was horrible. Everything was greasy and cooked to death. Ordered a Reuben sandwich and the corned beef was stringy and dry and the bread was soaked with grease. The quesadilla was a generous portion, but lacked flavor. I really wanted to like this place, but it was awful.
