this place used to have good open mic nights. then last night the guy hosting disappeared when we were supposed to start, and i had to find out from someone who doesnt even work here that he left. what happened to Ace? oh speaking of staff, i was told the spots marked 'coco' were free parking. but then i got slapped with a parking ticket? so basically you have to pay $30 (crazy increase in the span of a few months) or get an $80 parking ticket. dont go here.

This place instantly gave off a chill vibe. Like being at the stoner's frat house. To me, that's a good thing. The food was remarkable. I had a turkey sandwich with swiss and avacado. Well, it was supposed to be avacado, but it was guacamole. Which many know is a pureed avacado with pico. It worked, but I had really craved fresh avacado. The service was friendly and light-hearted. He really made the experience work. His demeanor and personality put me at ease immediately and never made me feel rushed or unwelcome. In fact, I would say he was the star of my experience. They have an outdoor patio, which was a boone. Had I not spent most of the last two days outside, I would have languished out there. This would be a great place to gather with friends or as a follow-up date.

Coffee and food are delicious! I’m pretty picky about my hashbrowns but these guys know how to season them. Definitely will come

It has a little bit of the nostalgic feeling, but I can definitely still tell it's changed. The kitchen is being renovated, so I can't speak for the

I’m petsitting at a nearby apartment complex and decided to walk over to Cafe Coco for breakfast for the first time in a few years. My coffee was made right away, and I had the nicest conversation with Constance while I waited for my food to come out! Such a lovely experience.

Don't do it, just don't. Arrived and ordered simple breakfast with 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuit n gravy. We're told they are out of bacon. Not ideal but ok sausage with biscuits n gravy. 2 breakfast and 2 coffees $40, it's Nashville so yeah. Not exaggerating when I say we waited 30 minutes in a hot dining area before being told they are out of gravy. Ok, we ordered we will just make do. 30 more minutes go by and we still haven't seen any food. My better half goes to check how much longer for our eggs and they tell her they haven't been started. I should have mentioned we only had one group of 4 in front of us that wished us good luck on there way out. We got a refund after waiting an hour and never seeing food. Go to Elliston Place Soda Shop around the corner if you want breakfast.

Bathrooms Not clean. Table sticky. They were out of all appetizers on the menu. Utensils were cheapest disposable made. Food flavor was the only reason it got 3 stars

Cafe Coco is still a nice place if you are looking for a place to go and relax in the evening. The staff at counter is really friendly. The last time I went on 5/10/23 someone who might have been a cook or worked in the back was charging around looking ticked off and acting as if he hoped someone would fight him. The food isn't worth the price. I got pretzels with beer cheese. The pretzels had a burned taste to them and the cup of beer cheese was not even half way full. The cheese was stuck to the side of the cup like it had been cooked in the microwave. Not worth the $9 it cost.

Came here one morning expecting a quick breakfast but it was in no way quick. It took them roughly 45 minutes to make a single piece of avocado toast. When it finally came out I was quite underwhelmed as the avocado was not fresh and looked to have come from a package.

Traveling from out of state, this was my second time here and I reserved posting after my first horrible experience eight years ago hoping it was a fluke. The first time, the service was slow ( no one besides me was in there and it took about 30 minutes of waiting around in a hot building) before I got a very underwhelming latte. I was back in town a few days ago and came here for late night (around 10:00ish) coffee and dinner. There was only one party in front of me and it took the one server about twenty minutes to take their coffee order, serve them and then take my order. He informed me that they had only almond milk at the point, so I obliged with a less than desirable milk selection for myself ( I prefer regular milk or oat milk). Everything I tried to order on the menu as well they said they were ‘out of’ so I settled on all they really had- tater tots and chicken tenders. I would not have waited to order if there had been a sign or if the employee had just announced to people coming in that they were out of regular milk and most of the menu items. I waited again in a very hot house for close to 30 minutes to get their order. I visited the bathroom at one point and it was pretty disgusting as well. The tater tots were completely over done, dry and burnt. I took a bite of the chicken and decided after reading some reviews on food poisoning at this place that it was not worth taking my chances, especially because it was not enjoyable. After fifty minutes, I left the place with a to -go inedible meal + generous tip and took a couple sips of an almond milk late that made my stomach hurt by the time I walked back to my accommodations. I think the staff, while nice, has absolutely no training with customer service. I watched as five women who were tourists as well came in and waited about twenty minutes to have their orders taken (also no reason for that as no one was ahead of them) only to be told the same thing as me- that they were out of all the milks except almond milk and most of the food. Most trained establishments actually put a sign on the door when experiencing major outages of things so people don’t wait to place orders that can’t be fulfilled. I think this is a joke of an establishment, I will never come back here again and I think the entire building is disgusting and needs to be demolished.

Great place to relax and get a late night cup of coffee. Just be aware that this isn't a table service establishment, while they will accommodate as many people as possible, this is an order at the counter and buss your own table kind of environment. Much like going to Starbucks!

Dirty, poor service, poor quality food, toilet overflowing with p**** hour wait while it only had a few tables, folks getting kicked out that weren’t allowed to be there, Didn’t get the food I ordered, You pay and tip ahead of time so your invested to stay. Try the water…. It was pretty good. Bad on every level!

My husband and I were coming thru Nashville and got there pretty late around 10 and decided to swing by this place. We really wanted some good coffee and hadn’t had dinner yet, so this seemed like a solid spot to try! The atmosphere is nice and there was a party happening at the time, so it seemed well liked. We got our coffee, mine was iced and pretty weak, and my husband got something hot which was pretty good. The kitchen was closed when we got there for the cook to take a break, so we hung out and enjoyed ourselves. Once it reopened, I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato soup, my husband got the burger. It wasn’t until everything came out and after we had paid when we were told that they didn’t have tomato soup and I could get a side salad or fries instead. I really wanted the soup, so it was frustrating not getting that, having already paid for it as I could have just gotten some thing entirely that I’d have wanted. I got a side salad, but just lettuce, tomato, and onion, super simple. The grilled cheese was delicious, but very heavy since the soup wasn’t there to balance with it. My husbands burger was very cold and his fries were beyond salty. My sweet potato fries weren’t and they were delicious and crunchy, but I do hate it for my husband because it’s like they did his first dish entirely and then worked on mine after the fact. Overall, the lack of soup could have been handled different and checked on, and my husband meal being cold could’ve been avoided. We did go and try the tiramisu and cannoli which we were a little disappointed to hear the tiramisu wasn’t made in-house anymore, but it was still delicious alongside the cannoli which is made in house. I imagine when passing thru that we would stop by again, probably just to hang out for desserts and coffee or tea. The new owner I believe was very nice and said he’d just taken over about a year ago, so maybe once a better routine is established, little things like this can be worked out! There’s definitely a lot of potential!

Vegetarian options: Yes, there are vegetarian options such as avocado toast

Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly moreso during the day. Night time there are love bands, a bar in the back, etc

Parking: Parking lot connected in front of the cafe

Wheelchair accessibility: I believe there is a ramp

Dietary restrictions: Good variety of meat and or veggie options

We came here for a quick breakfast before a visit to Vanderbilt University. The barista couldn’t get the milk steamer to work- which was not his fault. However, the food we ordered was brought to our table with bits STILL FROZEN- hash browns and green peppers in the egg bowl. Also we asked for no bacon but one of our meals had bacon in it. This was unfortunately a really awful meal- the worst breakfast we have ever eaten at a restaurant. Sadly I would never recommend this spot.
