I was in need of fruit tea. And the Beans and three. The greens are super flavorful, the sweet potatoes are just right, and the muffins... dense and yummy. The place can get full quickly, but the waiters are always attentive.

I love this place. Their chicken and salads are always fresh and delicious. I'd recommend half chicken, rather than a quarter chicken, if you have a normal to large appetite. The salads are so good! Best around. Zesty Ranch dressing is great too!

ALWAYS call ahead to see if they are open. They already have very short hours of operation and will then shorten them even more with zero warning or signage. Save your time and gas - just assume they are closed and go somewhere else for your $20 plus tip lunch.

Good food. They ran out of the half chicken so make sure to get there early. We were there about 1:30pm for lunch. Black bean dip was really good. Only thing I would give feedback on is everything tasted sweet, like they put some type of sweetener or sugar, and everything. Especially the salad dressings.

The food is good, I absolutely love the nachos, but the restaurant is DIRTY (nasty-dirty), even Covid didn't clean it up. That's the only thing that keeps me from really enjoying eating there. The staff is upbeat and friendly, and reasonable prices. Hopefully, this temporary closure will result in a much needed cleaning.

If I could give more than five stars, I would. My boyfriend and I visit in Nashville and we went to the Calypso Cafe on Thompson Lane. I used to frequent this place years ago and really love the service and food. I am pleased to say that nothing has changed that the food is just as delicious as it was years ago. I remember many fond memories of Calypso Cafe, as many of my friends, and I was down here frequently. As a creative person, I Lover of music and fellowship. Calypso Café is the perfect place to have a great meal at a reasonable price with excellent service. Hats off to Calypso Cafe ! You did it again!

My husband and I usually eat here at least once a week. We love the rotisserie chicken, salads and sides. Well, my husband’s been in the hospital for awhile but I had a hankering for some Calypso and ate there today. We’ve gotten to know server Quinton over the years, and he asked after my husband. He was so sweet so I took his picture with a fan around his neck (he hustles!) to send to my husband. So when you go tell Quinton he has a big fan from Franklin.What an asset he (and Amy, another longtime server) are to CC.

Love this place! The black bean nachos are a hit with my whole family. Get the chips on the side to keep them crisp. Update 15 Aug 2023: The chicken sandwich is glorious. I usually add tomatoes. The muffins are sometimes dry, but when they hit they really hit.
