My daughter and I dined here for Easter Brunch and it was delicious. We ordered the creole grits. If you love creole dishes, this is a good choice. Our server, Jenny was delightful and the ambience was so calming and enjoyable as well as the trio providing wonderful music. We will be back.

Ate dinner with my parents and the food was excellent.. there were some issues with how long our meal took to come out and the manager and waiter’s response was above and beyond to make it right. We are regulars and I look forward to coming back. The duck and no filler crab cakes were superb .. the desert menu doesn’t miss!

This was our first visit but not our last . We had a fantastic lunch! Angie was our server. She was kind, informative, funny and just generally terrific.The food was fabulous! We started with onion rings that are the best we have ever had. Crisp, hot freshly made. We had the chicken ginger salad . Fabulous .. and the fried chicken with 2 sides. Then finished it off with the best hot pecan pie a la mode !! Seriously an outstanding meal .Between Angie’s awesome personality and the amazing food . I would give this 10 stars if I could . I regret I didn’t take photos but we were too busy shoveling it in !!

Our experience at Char as we celebrated 2 birthdays with 12 women was beyond exceptional. None of us had ever dined here before and we were treated royally. The food was all delicious and the service outstanding. And they even had birthday cards for the 2 birthday girls. A+++ to Char staff and chefs.

I asked if the mussels were fresh or frozen, and I was adamantly told they were fresh. These mussels were freshly freezer burned, and that’s about it. They also came with pathetic, thin slices of an Aldi baguette. This dish was DISGUSTING.We also shared an order of old grease- I mean mushy onion rings. I still have a stomachache 16 hours later.

Overall, the food was bland. As a local to New Orleans, the imitation of flavor as quite cringe. I got the sauteed crab claws against my better judgement, and it came with cocktail sauce. When i asked for remoulad I received an incredibly bewildered look. Remoulad goes with sauteed crabclaws, not cocktail sauce. I got the filet, which was cooked Medium, not medium rare. I had asked for a side of the cajun butter and recieved a side of melted butter with red pepper flakes in it. The server came back and said, that wasn't it and handed me another container with freshly sauteed onions, butter, and 2 tablespoons of blackening seasonings. The steak had 0 seasoning from the jump and the cajun butter as abhorrent. The only good thing we got were the drinks. Outback has better steaks. Service was slow, but our server had a large table so i can't put that on her too much.

We made a return visit to Char and loved the experience. We last visited early in Covid and while the food was great, the experience was not. But now that we've returned we plan to make this a regular spot. The steak was delicious- great value with loaded baked potato included- it was as good as the steak. My wife had a gigantic burger that was great. Outstanding service from a very personable waiter named Mitchell. Best of all it's local in Green Hills so we avoid high parking prices downtown or in Germantown. 5 stars !

Highly recommend! Our server Sarah was amazing. We were there celebrating my birthday and when we were seated there was a Happy Birthday card signed by the staff which I thought was an amazing touch to make the experience even more special. The food was absolutely delicious. The filet was so tender it cut like butter. We also really enjoyed the live piano music. Definitely will go again next time in Nashville.

This being our 4th or 5th time back to Char, we were eagerly anticipating dinner here again. Being Saturday night, it was much louder than we anticipated, and due to a snafu in the kitchen, our steaks came out about one hour after we ordered them. Our server apologized and brought out complimentary gelato for us all at the end of the meal. The steaks and salad were delicious, and we will not let this setback deter us from future visits - although this time perhaps not peak weekend hours. Our past experiences have all been great.

Ribeye and baked potato were absolutely fantastic. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth with the perfect amount of marbling. The loaded baked potato was fluffy and cheesy with a nice flaky salt in the skin l. I also throughly enjoyed the espresso martini I had.

Great waitress and service. The main course came out almost immediately after the salads so had to rush through the salads to get to it! Kind of takes away from truly enjoying the delicious meal.

My colleague and I frequent your restaurant for lunch often. we look forward to the fried catfish, unfortunately last Friday the catfish was fatty and didn't taste fresh, the muffins were dry, and the fried okra was hard. I worked in foodservice for over 20 years and usually never complain about my meal but felt that I should this time.

The manager Elissa was not very accomdating for my party. We had 2 separate reservations and she would would not work with us to put us toegther. She was not very nice and I really do not want to come back again. The waitress was fantastic had great customer service skills. Maybe she can train her manager.

Char is the best. There was a Happy Birthday card on the table and I had not told them in advance. They took the time to look at that themselves and take action. Their food is excellent and the service even better. Recommend the filet and the pork chop. Wedge salad is perfect. Save room for pecan pie if you can.
