Service was great. The workers here are super friendly. The food was good, but a bit greasy. Portions were large and I was able to save some leftovers for when I got home.

Nasty and spent over 100 dollars on food to go for family. We all got sick with diarrhea and throwing up. Didn't even eat our pork fried rice because the pork smelled like wet dog. We will never get food there again

I’ve been here in the past, but they fell off tremendously. The customer service was just ok, though our server wasn’t that attentive. In her defense, I believe she was the only one waiting on tables. Here’s my opinion :

- I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp, that was good. The shrimp were crispy and this was my favorite out of everything I tried. 4/5⭐️

- The general tso chicken was not good. It tasted more like some kind of honey chicken, and there was no spice to it. 2.5/5⭐️

- The crab Rangoon was good, 4/5⭐️

- The spring rolls were decent, but I’ve had better 3/5⭐️

- Wonton soup had 2 small wontons with barely any meat inside, and the broth tasted like a top ramen packet. The little crispy chips they give you with it were oily. 2/5⭐️

- I opted for fried rice with my meal, and comes with peas and carrots (which I don’t care for). It was very basic, not nasty, but nothing to rave about. Soy sauce definitely stepped it up. 3/5⭐️

Overall, I still wouldn’t choose this place when I’m craving Chinese food. I only came for someone’s birthday. I prefer China Wok in Hendersonville (Main street)

They used to be a decent Chinese restaurant in Nashville. Now their food is another American sweet jun Chinese.

I will not go back

China Cottage used to be extremely good! However, the last few times the food has been below subpar.

I stopped in to get General Tso’s chicken and fried rice to go. I’ll say this: the service was friendly and fast. But the dish was fried lumps of chicken in a sweet sauce with no adornment of scallions or sesame seeds. The rice had practically no peas, carrots or anything else but tasteless, dry rice. I theew most of it out. No need for me to return.

This used to be my goto spot for Chinese food, but unfortunately, that has changed. I moved away for a year and was excited to get back home and visit this location and was surprised that the food quality is not the same. I would order 15 spring rolls per order for my family because they were so good, but I'm glad I didn't on my last order because they are not the same as this time last year. I will not be eating here any longer. You can find better Chinese food within 20 minutes of this location.

We had the Triple Delight. It was really good. BUT the spring rolls are nasty. Mushy inside. They need to go back to the ones they had before.

If you’re from New England, and see how many great reviews this place has, and you’re thinking to yourself ‘wow, maybe there’s hope for decent Chinese food in Nashville after all!’ I just want to come on here to save you your time and your money. It’s awful. Just as awful as all of the other Chinese food joints in this city. We ordered chicken wings, lo mein, fried rice, general tso’s, garlic broccoli, crab rangoon, chicken teriyaki… just… all so… gross.

My how far this place has fallen. I have been eating here since 2007. I always considered it the best Chinese food in Nashville. Then the owner sold it. At first, there was not a noticeable drop off in quality, but then it started to decline. 4 months ago it was so bad, I swore I’d never go back. Tonight I gave it another chance. HUGE mistake. It has hit the bottom of the barrel. Neither of the two servers working tonight understood enough English to adequately take an order. Once the food started to arrive, it got worse. First of all, there were no serving spoons and we had to request plates to put the food on. We ordered General Tso’s Chicken. Not sure what we got, but it was not General Tso’s. It was chicken, but the sauce was unidentifiable and saying it was bland would be a compliment. Not once during dinner did a server ask if we needed anything or offer to refill our drinks. I had to flag one of them down to get our check. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this restaurant. I’d give 0 stars if it were an option.

The soup was hot. The crab ragoon was delicious, but it was a little too hot. Unfortunately my meal was delivered 10 minutes after my husband. The fried rice was not all that great and was served barely warm. However the Triple Crown and the Sweet and Sour chicken were tasty and also served very hot. Watch your tongue! It may get burnt.

This used to be our go to place for Chinese food. Last visit the food seemed off and not as good. Table next to us found a worm in the broccoli . That can happen in fresh food. So today we try it again. I ordered crab raggoon and it was burnt. The rest of the food came out and I said the rice tasted burnt. My vegetables were raw and crunchy. My wifexsaid same thing about her rice it had bad burnt taste. The chicken tasted very salty. Then they refilled my drink , my wife says dont drink it there was a huge hair hanging on the pitcher. Called the waitress back to tell her and didn't speak English to understand what we were saying. We never finished our food and was asked if wanted to go boxes. I said no food wasn't worth eating. When we went to pay told cashier same thing. Told they have new cook , sorry. Still charged full amount.. Last trip for us there.
