I truly cannot believe Nashville is letting this place close! It has been my absolute favorite bite of the 2025 year. Service was incredible and the atmosphere was fun and intimate. The food absolutely exceeded any expectations I had. Go support them this week before they close and get the Mapo Tofu! Sad to see this place go

Wonderful Chinese fusion place in the heart of The Gulch. I loved it and have been here more than once.

Hands down one of the best experiences in Nashville! We ordered the Whole Sizzled Fish which was red snapper and it was absolutely exceptional! Truly one of the most tender and delicious fish dishes I’ve ever had. Their steak fried rice and green beans were amazing as well! They also have delicious cocktails — the Ducks Fly Together cocktail was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Will be back!

Absolutely loved my experience at Choy Nashville! The food was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The service was equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming throughout the night.

Our favorite dishes were hands down the chicken wings and the Peking duck—both packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu! Highly recommend.

Usually go with my good friends Craig and Dave. This place is excellent. All the staff always come and say hello, and the food and drinks are always great. One of my favorite places to dine. Also, the espresso martini is one of the best I’ve ever had.

From the service to the space to the food they left no stone unturned to make sure this is an unforgettable dining experience. The food had unique flavors which itself stood out. Definitely coming back again as it has become one my Nashville favorite spot.

Wow, my girlfriend and I had an incredible dinner at Choy in Nashville, TN, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and lively. The appetizers were fantastic—every bite bursting with flavor. The fried rice was perfectly seasoned, and the Mapo Tofu was truly special; the chef kindly made a customized version to accommodate my allergy, and it was absolutely delicious.

Choy’s innovative take on Peking Duck is a must-try—unique and expertly prepared, it truly stands out. Our server Felicia was exceptional; she knew the menu inside and out, from the food to cocktails, wines, and spirits. Her energetic and friendly attitude made our experience even more memorable.

Whether you're looking for a fantastic meal or just want to relax at the bar, Choy is the place to be. They're doing something special in Nashville— offering a level of innovation and service that no one else currently offers. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend it!

The food is oily and too salty.

Not accommodating when I called the host and mentioned we were celebrating a special occasion as well as noted it on the reservation.

EDIT: I saw a previous review with a special note and you offered a complimentary glass of champagne. I did not ask for a whole complimentary bottle. I asked for a glass of champagne for them OR dessert. What’s the point of noting a special occasion on the reservation then? I was taking out my friends for dinner who just got engaged and wanted to do something special. This is the first upscale restaurant that I’ve heard of that won’t do something special for an occasion. I wasn’t expecting free things, but I just wanted to call and see as most restaurants understand how to celebrate a special occasion. The way it was handled was unprofessional - First the host did say they could do cava complimentary then she called back and said never mind. I reviewed on OpenTable and Google after I saw the managers response I lowered my rating due to his rude and accusatory attitude.

RESTAURANT MANAGERS RESPONSE IS EXTREMELY RUDE: Lucy, we don't appreciate the trolling of multiple negative reviews on multiple platforms. It's really unnecessary and unappreciated that you even changed your 3 star review to a 1 star review after a month of reflecting. We get it, you hate us and we understand that. We have gone ahead and refunded your entire bill. Please do not come back, we wish you the best.

After finding this on a New York Times list of top 25 restaurants in Nashville, I wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. It started with much too loud music, sounding like a club, and not conducive to conversation at all (and this was while sitting in a high backed booth). I know there's inflation still, but the prices seemed really high - $17 for a puffy circle of bread with whipped spread?? We tried a number of "small bites", with the standout one being the yellowfin tuna. Two were unbelievably salty - lamb ribs and seared bok choy. The squid was super spicy, so my husband really liked that one, but neither of us were very excited by the shumai or pig ear terrine. The service was uncomfortably hovering. There was always someone passing by or checking on us, and clearing plates the minute we finished.

Me and my partner visited within the first month of opening. We enjoyed the atmosphere, lighting, and service however, we weren’t completely impressed by our choices: chrysanthemum and peaches, squid ink wontons, and the eggplant.

The chrysanthemum and peaches dish was very light but personally, we thought it wasn’t a cohesive dish. It tasted like leaves, peaches, honey, and crushed nuts were grouped together on a small plate. Our favorite part was licking the honey or sticky sweetener off the plate.

The wontons were bland in that it lacked salt or other significant flavor whether it was sweet, spicy, acidic, or umami. If I recall correctly, there was a red sauce over it and it reminded us of kimchi paste. It didn’t stand out to us as spectacular.

Our favorite was the eggplant. We’re big fans of eggplant in general. The eggplant was cooked well and certainly had umami. All dishes were memorable in their own way. In reflection, I think we had questions related to the theme of cohesion across the plates, inspiration, and visual (it looks like a t-Rex with a crown, I believe). Overall, it was a great dining experience but we were left with some confusion.

I’m going to be vulnerable to say that I’m certain my ethnic background certainly set up expectations to experience a different type of Chinese-American restaurant. I was initially excited, thinking I would experience a twist with some nostalgia from Chinese banquet style restaurants but my expectations were off the mark. So I choose not to give a review after I received an email invitation because I wasn’t so sure about the accuracy of my initial review. But over time, I realize my experience is my own despite the gao in expectation and experience; I just have to be thoroughly honest… I recognize that I’m not Chinese and I’m not in the restaurant industry but I didn’t feel a connection to these dishes as an Asian-American. I personally felt like Choy is more American-Chinese than Chinese-American.
