The service was great. The pizza cooked inside the oven comes out with a nice crispy outer crust and a good jar on the bottom, but the crust is chewy. The cheese is a little bit greasy, but at least there’s plenty of it.
There are lots of great food options in Assembly Hall. The pizza at DeSano is always one of our favorite options when visiting the hall. As native New Yorkers it's always hard to find really good pizza compared to back home. We feel DeSano makes great pizza and would even do well in NY. The pizza and ingredients are always fresh. The Il Maiale had a great crust. It was crisp yet tender, with enough structure to not be floppy at the point. The flavor was good, aside from being too salty. The meats involved certainly tend that way, but it's not inevitable. Here the toppings were strewn unevenly and without proportion. Maybe other locations care more?
