There are a lot of good Mexican restaurants in this area but Don Julio is the worst I've been to. Everything from the chips and salsa to rice and beans was bland. I had a burrito and enchilada combination plate and I could barely cut through either of them something weird about the tortillas. I asked for a side of pickled jalapeños and if I had been blindfolded I wouldn't even know they were peppers. The waitress was very nice no problem there. The prices were average but considering the quality of the food overpriced. I've been to every Mexican restaurant around here and they're all better than Don Julio.

The taco salad was excellent. Salsa is chunky and hand made.
Disappointed with the food definitely not the same like it use to be when they first opened, chicken chimichangas are extremely soggy not deep fried and they over fry the fish, and it came with very little rice & beans. Will not be visiting anymore. They all about how fast we can push out the food to get the US dollar. Check out the other Mexican restaurant down the street from them, they always cook the meat outside on the grill, they have great authentic food so delicious.

This is my go-to Mexican restaurant when I come through Nashville. It's not a chain restaurant, it's just a man making good food for the public. It is definitely a clean "hole in the wall"
What a great find! The building is modest but don't let that stop you from coming in. The food is amazing and the service is welcoming and genuinely friendly. We started with the chips - which were freshly cooked in the store - and salsa (homemade and FRESH). We moved on to a cheese quesadilla which was hands down, the most delicious cheese quesadilla I ever ate. I'll be dreaming about this! Dinner was a bowl of 7 mares soup, which was so loaded with seafood I could barely make it through half of the cauldron sized bowl. It was delicious, and 100% pescatarian. My better half had the shrimp and swai fajitas. They were seasoned perfectly and so, so, so good. The bill for everything (including an iced tea) was $45 before tip which was more than fair. I'm so glad we found this place.

Only thing that could have gone better was they were out of Chile Relleno. The waitress was very attentive. The food was served hot and plentiful. The salsa and chips were also very plentiful.
